Robin casting Goetia on Dark Pit in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U

Goetia is an alternate down special move available to Robin in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. As a customization option which replaces Nosferatu, like all alternate special moves, Goetia must be collected in a gameplay mode before it can be accessed and applied to Robin. When cast, it draws opponents into its grasp and deals a large number of weak hits in very quick succession, but unlike Nosferatu, it does not heal Robin at all.

In accordance with Robin's durability mechanic, Goetia can only be used four times before it breaks, after which point Robin must wait forty seconds before it becomes usable again.

Fire Emblem Cipher

Goetia is present as a skill on one card in Fire Emblem Cipher: B08-045SR Devilish Black Wings, Aversa. It is a manual-activation skill which, for a cost of flipping one bond card face-down, gives Aversa a +30 attack increase until the end of the turn; however, the opponent is first given an opportunity to discard one card from their hand, and if they do so then Aversa does not receive the attack increase.

Trivia

  • In terms of might, Goetia is the most powerful of all tomes in Awakening, and ties with Gradivus and Parthia for the status of second-most powerful weapon in the game overall (all after Hauteclere, at 21).
    • However, despite its might, Goetia deals less damage than Valflame, due to the latter providing an innate magic boost to the wielder.
