| “ | Oh, foolish Corrin...Did you really expect to be able to break through the rib cage of an elder dragon? There's only one way out of here, and I assure you, it isn't pleasant. Also, you'll die. In case that wasn't clear. | ” | — Iago |

Fort Dragonfall (Japanese: 黒竜砦 Black Dragon Fortress) is the twentieth chapter of the Birthright campaign in Fire Emblem Fates. In this chapter, Corrin's army are trapped inside a long-dormant dragon revived by Iago's magic and forced to fight against a horde of Faceless.

Fort Dragonfall/Script
The Hoshidan army teleports back into the Woods of the Forlorn. They decide to march northeast away from the Nohrian army and toward Castle Krakenburg. En route, they pass through the unguarded Fort Dragonfall; Ryoma explains the tight spaces should prevent them from being surrounded, and the fort is partially constructed from the remains of a dragon. Once they are inside the fort, it begins shaking and the exits are blocked off; Iago appears and reveals he is reviving the dragon, which will digest the Hoshidans once it is fully awakened. Iago additionally summons Faceless to taunt the Hoshidans. Azura offers to sing "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" to try and escape; Corrin is initially against it, but Azura assures them her suffering will be worth their lives, though she advises the Faceless must be removed first.
Once the Faceless have all been defeated, Azura returns to the fort's entrance and begins to sing—as she does, the fort begins to return to normal, and the Hoshidans take the opportunity to break a way out. Once outside, they see the dragon return to its dead state. Corrin tends to Azura; she seems fine initially, but soon collapses and is covered in dark energy. Corrin notes that Azura seems to be fading away; once she has recovered, they confront her about the risk she is taking. Azura explains that some uses of the song require more of her energy, and singing it for long enough may cause her to disintegrate. Azura asserts that the song will be necessary to defeat Garon and is willing to sacrifice herself if need be, though she promises she will try not to let that happen.
Summary
After the Rainbow Sage imbues the Yato with additional power, the group makes their way toward the capital of Nohr. It won't be easy to reach their destination.
