Yoder is a bishop in service to the St. Elimine church. He allows Roy to take the Aureola tome at the end of Chapter 16x, and use it to help end the war. He then shows up in Chapter 21 to speak with Roy about the demon dragon, and to join the Etrurian Army.

Yoder is a prepromoted bishop who joins Roy's team very late into the game. He brings with him a divine weapon from either Sacae or Ilia, depending on which route Roy did not visit, for his allies to use. He is already at level 20, meaning his stats cannot grow any further outside of stat boosters, which are readily available in the Secret Shop in his join chapter, albeit expensive. His magic is high and he can wield every staff in the game, allowing him to contribute as soon as he joins. He notably can use the Staff of the Saint, which he may be the only character capable of using. He has a capped 30 points in resistance, allowing him to tank magic attacks and bait out enemy status staves. However, his defense is downright awful; any two physical enemies can kill him, and he joins on a chapter filled with Wyvern Riders; in particular, a max-strength Silver Lance Wyvern Lord has exactly enough damage to kill Yoder in one hit. His other stats are average at best. Without stat boosters, Yoder will remain physically frail as he won't be able to level up to increase his defense or speed.

He has an A rank in light magic, so he can be a last-minute candidate for the Aureola tome; this however, requires using him for combat to raise his weapon level to an S rank, though Chapter 22 has several Druid groups that are otherwise hard to deal with that he can safely fight for this purpose. He is still a more viable candidate than the other two possible wielders, Saul and Elen, both of whom only have a D rank upon promotion, though the game can be beaten regardless of whether someone can wield Aureola. A much more practical tome is Purge, which if obtained he will likely be the only character who can use it.

Because of his lower magic, Yoder is considered an inferior staffbot compared to Niime, but both can contribute well thanks to the usefulness of staves in The Binding Blade.

Yoder is a devout follower of St. Elimine. He lets Roy take the Aureola tome to help end the war, saying that Elimine wished for peace. He comforts Dorothy when she is sad since she desperately wishes to be able to heal others like Brother Saul. He also speaks to Dayan, with the two talking about affinities and their true powers.

The priest who searches for the truth behind the Fire Emblem and dragons. A high priest of the Elimine Church. He came from the central church in order to make certain the truth regarding the Demon Dragon's restoration that Saul had relayed to his superiors. As he gathered information, Roy's group had become powerful. As he learned more of Bern's restoration of the Demon Dragon, he joined Roy's army. He has a gentle personality, as well as decisive tact. The elderly and devoted Yoder decides, based upon the results of his investigation into the Demon Dragon, that the perceived "dragon threat" was very real and was able to help put an end to it. Not only was he devoted to his faith, but possessed both great insight and influence. As acknowledgement of his meritorious deeds, he ascended to archbishop of the Elimine Church after the war. Long ago, Yoder had journeyed with the mountain herming Niime to various places. His actions in his younger days are something one may want to try and see sometime.
