Fox Atomic

Fox Atomic was a production and distribution label of film studios 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures created in 2006. Similar to its competitors Screen Gems and Dimension Films, this label was to generate more genre-based films (i.e. action, horror, thriller, sci-fi, or comedy) to a primarily diverse audience of either teen-to-young adults, females, African-Americans, or Latinos, and also like its sister company Fox Searchlight Pictures, it would also distribute independent movies in addition to producing some. In 2008, following overall disappointing box office performances, as well as being the victim of the late-2000s recession, Fox Atomic scaled back its production operations and shut down all marketing divisions. In 2009, the label was shut down, with its few final films that were completed transferred to both Fox labels, while the other films that were in development ended up being cancelled, such as their more infamously planned Revenge of the Nerds reboot. All of the Fox Atomic film library is now owned by The Walt Disney Company via Walt Disney Studios, following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox on March 20, 2019.

  Turistas (2006): The letters are silver and the logo is on a red background with a white spotlight.

  The Comebacks (2007): The letters are white and the logo is on a football field, still with a white spotlight.

  The Rocker (2008): The logo is colored yellow with some black, with "FOX ATOMIC" in a different font. The logo is on a red background with some salmon-colored circles, as well as maroon-colored circles. The background is very dark, except for a spotlight that brightens up the background.

Visuals: On a black background, there is a gold metal "F" casting a shadowy gold "A" under it. Under both of the letters is the text "FOX ATOMIC" in white. A few seconds later, searchlights fade in onto the "X" in "FOX" (a design later used for Fox Digital Entertainment). The logo has an old film effect throughout.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie or silent.

Availability Note: The logo was only used in films they have produced and is usually paired with either the 20th Century Fox or Fox Searchlight logos. However, on Sunshine, Death Sentence, Shutter (2008), Deception, Miss March, 12 Rounds, Post Grad, and Jennifer's Body, the logo is not present as they would use either the 20th Century Fox or Fox Searchlight Pictures logos respectively (the latter four movies were already transferred to both labels by the time Fox Atomic had shut down).
