CIC-Taft Video was the Australian subsidiary of CIC Video. It originated as a joint venture between Cinema International Corporation and Rigby Publishers Pty. Ltd., a subsidiary of James Hardie Industries, to distribute material from CIC and Hanna-Barbera. It was one of the Magnificent Seven home video distributors. Its tapes were duplicated by Roadshow Home Video. In 1983, the joint venture was reorganized as Taft-Hardie Group, after which the video subsidiary changed its name accordingly. After a takeover of Taft-Hardie and a renaming to Southern Star Group, the company sold its interests in the distributor to CIC, which from that point on became the sole owner; as such, it became CIC Video Australia.
Visuals: On a light blue (or dark blue) background, the text "Rigby-CIC Video presents" fades in, in a very fancy-looking font. Then it just fades out, and the warning screen scrolls. When the warning screen is done, one of four logos fades in:
On CIC Video releases, a 2D white CIC logo appears. A version has been spotted with the "prototype" (chain-less) logo.
On Merlin Video releases, the Merlin Video logo fades in, which is a silver-colored shield with 6 lightning bolts protruding from the top and the bottom, "Merlin" in a very "Shakespearian" font, and "VIDEO" in a sans-serif font. When Rigby-CIC became CIC-Taft, a still of the normal logo was used.
On THG Video releases, the still THG Video logo fades in.
On Worldvision Home Video releases, a still version of the Worldvision Home Video logo (minus the byline) fades in. If you look closely, the CIC logo briefly appears before the Worldvision logo appears.
Variants:
The warning screen may be in a Helvetica or Century Gothic-like font. Tapes branded with "CIC-Taft" use a Courier New-like font.
From about 1984 onwards, "Rigby-CIC" is replaced with "CIC-Taft". This variant also lacks the "Presents" text.
CIC-Taft releases from 1986 to 1989 use a modified version of the logo which only shows the CIC-Taft Video logo and the warning scroll. After this, it transitions to the 2nd CIC Video logo.

Audio:
A triumphant fanfare at the beginning, a mellow synth jazz tune in the middle, and another triumphant fanfare at the end ("The Sound of Success" by Brian Bennett). There is also an announcer saying, "Rigby/CIC (or CIC-Taft) Video proudly presents, a spectacular range of the finest full-length feature films and animated family favourites, from the studios of Universal, Paramount, and other major film production houses. The movie you have selected is one from the comprehensive Rigby/CIC (or CIC-Taft) Video catalogue, which enables you to enjoy these authentic movies in the comfort of your own home. So now, it's Hollywood at home!".
This can also be silent, particularly if it's the prototype variation.

2nd Logo (1989-1990)

Visuals: On the same background as on the CIC Video warning scroll, there is the "CIC-Taft Video" logo in the same font as before. When the logo fades out, it then transitions to the warning scroll. When that finishes it either transitions to one of the following:
On retail tapes, it would fade into the 2nd logo with the blue background variant with the marquee.
On rental tapes, it would fade into the Hologram warning, which then fades into the 2nd logo with the "PREVIEWS" advice (see the 4th logo on the CIC Video page).

Variants:
An early version exists where the background is bright blue, the text does not scroll, and the chain in the "I" in the CIC Video logo is removed. This was used until 1983.
Another variant exists, where the background is dark blue, with the text, again, not scrolling and the chain in the "I" in the CIC Video logo intact. This was used from 1983-86.
In the 1987 variant of the 1986 UK warning, "Not for sale or hire in Australia or New Zealand." is added to the end.
On Australian VHS releases, different warning text scrolls up with the word "WARNING", the CIC Video logo does not appear, the fonts may vary (depending on the tape), and after the warning text finishes scrolling, either the CIC Video logo or the Merlin Video logo appears. Also, on THG Video releases, the THG Video logo fades to the warning screen. Initially, the text is also in a Helvetica font, but it was later changed to a more futuristic font, before settling on a Courier New-like font, and eventually, a plain Times-like font.
Laserdisc releases have "videocassette" replaced by "videodisc". This was only used in the early 1980s, though.

Audio: None. However, on very rare occasions, the music from the 1978-1982 MCA DiscoVision logo plays, either normal or high-pitched, likely due to the conversion to PAL for the latter. On some Australian VHS releases from Rigby-CIC Video or CIC-Taft Video, a male voiceover can be heard, reading the text.

Visuals:
Opening: On the same aurora background as the era's CIC Video logo is the underlined word "WARNING" and the same text from the previous screen in a white Russell Square Regular font. Behind the text is the faded CIC logo. The pattern in the aurora waves move in the background.
Closing: Against the same background with the faded CIC logo, the same longer set of warning text from the previous screens scrolls up. When the text is finished scrolling upward, the background stays on for two additional seconds before the warning fades out.
Variants:
On early DreamWorks Home Entertainment releases, which were technically under the CIC label, the faded CIC logo is removed and the text also has darker shadows. Additionally, the aurora background animation also has a noticeably different time loop.
When Paramount rebranded CIC as Paramount Home Entertainment UK and began self-releasing their titles following Universal's decision to pull out, the faded CIC logo is now permanently removed.
At the end of early DreamWorks Home Entertainment releases, the same longer set of warning text scrolls up as before, but scaled slightly, has minor spelling and grammar, and before the last paragraph of the warning text finishes scrolling upward, the background fades out early with it slightly. This was likely used as a prototype version.
At the end of later DreamWorks Home Entertainment releases and all Paramount Home Entertainment releases since the split, the typos and grammar (see "Editor's Note") are fixed and it finishes scrolling upwards before the background fades out.
On timecoded VHS releases, the opening screen starts off as the faded CIC zooms in to the center of the viewer's screen (in style of the 1996-1999 logo). Then, different warning text scrolls up in a Univers Condensed font.
On a timecoded VHS release of Snow Day, the text is in a different font and Paramount Home Entertainment (UK) is mentioned instead of CIC. Also, the faded CIC logo is permanently removed and the background animation is at a shorter time loop.
