Path of Radiance

Smite (Japanese: ぶちかまし Face Strike) is a skill which debuted in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. It is an enhanced version of the Shove skill available to almost all non-mounted units, performing the same function with double the effectiveness: when used upon command, the user can push a single neighboring unit of any affiliation two spaces away from them, provided they are larger or heavier than the target unit to be pushed. When it returned in Fire Emblem: Three Houses as a Combat art associated with the Heavy Armor skill level, it kept the same effect as in its previous appearances albeit without any restrictions regarding constitution or weight.

ぶちかまし

In sumo, buchikamashi (Japanese: 打ち噛まし) is a term used to describe the first collision between the two wrestlers at the beginning of a match. The move is generally translated into English as "striking the face". The term's use in Fire Emblem is likely intended to reference the immense force and weight behind the sumo collision. Referred to "TACKLE2" in its internal file name in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.
