1st Logo (November 2, 1995)

Visuals: A still picture of a soldier in the jungle with red skies. The soldier has a helmet and goggles and appears to be shouting in the air with a raised fist. The reflection of fighter jets are seen in his visor. In front of the picture, there is

ENTERTAINMENT

in a white Stencil font.

Technique: Sprite animated graphics.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only appears on Agile Warrior F-111X on the PlayStation.

2nd Logo (October 24, 1996-March 16, 2004)

Visuals: On a black background, the words "BLACK OPS" and "ENTERTAINMENT" (in a silver 3-D Stencil font) fly in from the top and bottom and meet in the upper part of the screen. A light flashes behind the logo and as it gets bigger, the words explode into tiny pieces and emitting sparks. The sparks then die down as the logo fades away.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A low humming which stops with a "THUD" when the words meet, then the sound of an engulfing fireball is heard then the explosion, which leaves a sound that trails off as the logo fades out.

Availability: Seen on a handful of games such as Black Dawn, Tomorrow Never Dies, Warpath: Jurassic Park and The World is Not Enough for the PlayStation and on Knockout Kings 2001, Street Hoops, Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror (and its European counterpart America's 10 Most Wanted), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and The X-Files: Resist or Serve for the PS2.

3rd Logo (October 3, 1999-September 1, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, a silver rectangle with the black text "BLACK OPS" (like before, in Stencil) and black line with "entertainment" inside underneath it fades in. The logo has a shining effect on the upper right of the rectangle. The logo then fades out.

Variants:

  • In the credits of the Xbox version of Knockout Kings 2002, the shine is absent. It also cuts instead of fading.
  • On AND 1 Streetball, the logo (without the rectangle) is on a basketball during the opening movie. It then spins, showing the motto "I BALL" and the AND 1 logo underneath it.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None.

Audio Variants:

  • On Knockout Kings 2002, "TKO" by Hidden Masters plays.
  • On AND 1 Streetball, a whoosh is heard when the ball spins.

Availability: Seen on the Nintendo 64 version of Knockout Kings 2000, in the credits of the Xbox version of Knockout Kings 2002, and AND 1 Streetball for PS2 and Xbox.
