Return to Me

Be not afraid. Today, your mother returns to us. The time has come. Perhaps I am not an equal man to him... But I am here by your side, Sitri. Sitri... Si...tri... Sitriii!
— Aelfric

Wolf Pack (Japanese: 灰狼の矜持 Ashen Wolves' Pride) is the seventh and final chapter of the Fire Emblem: Three Houses expansion Cindered Shadows. It consists solely of a mission, A Beast in the Cathedral (Japanese: 大聖堂の戦い Cathedral Battle).

Plot

Main article: Wolf Pack/Script

The party confronts Aelfric at the monastery cathedral. Rhea again attempts to convince him to stand down, but despite her warnings that the Chalice of Beginnings cannot restore Sitri's soul or body, Aelfric uses his own blood to finish the ritual. However, the Chalice absorbs both Aelfric and Sitri and merges them into a mindless Umbral Beast. More monsters attack the cathedral, and Rhea orders the Knights of Seiros to defeat the monsters while Byleth and their companions subdue the Umbral Beast. The party faces the Umbral Beast in a harrowing final battle and finally destroy it.

With the Umbral Beast dead, Rhea recounts Sitri's death and last words. She explains that she transplanted Sitri's heart into Byleth to save them. Rhea further recounts that Sitri saw her as a mother figure; she secretly transferred her body to Abyss after her death so she could visit her, not foreseeing that the body would be discovered or that the ensuing tragedies would occur. Elsewhere, Yuri notes that Aelfric founded the Ashen Wolves 5 years before he found Sitri, and speculates that his intentions for them were originally pure. Afterwards, Rhea disbands the Ashen Wolves and informs them that they are all free to leave. With that settled, the Wolves go their separate ways; Constance sets her sights on the Royal School of Sorcery in Fhirdiad, Hapi decides to return to her home village, Balthus vows to pay his debts off, and Yuri intends to take care of the people of his hometown. Leaving Abyss in the hands of Byleth and the house leaders, the four depart.

Unused beginning log

As Rhea feared, the Rite of Rising has gone out of control. Aelfric has been forever lost, transformed into an umbral beast. You and the Ashen Wolves prepare for a final confrontation in the cathedral.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

If the Umbral Beast initiates an attack on its turn, it may begin charging Umbral Surge – a Staggering Blow which targets the entire map and displaces all units. Because Umbral Surge only begins charging if the Umbral Beast initiates an attack and because it cannot move, a defensive approach of entering and exiting its range in the same turn while attacking may make the battle significantly easier. Reclassing all applicable units to classes with Canto may further improve this strategy's effect; Fetters of Dromi may make it more feasible or be a determinant factor as to whether or not a unit can successfully perform it due to the movement increase. However, even with Umbral Surge no longer being a nuisance, two Verrats will still spawn every turn: the units who cannot safely attack by entering and exiting the Umbral Beast's range in a single turn should focus on eliminating these reinforcements as they are spawned. As this is the final chapter of the Side-Story, it is not wasteful to take full advantage of any and all items.

Note that completing this chapter for the first time allows you to claim the Chalice of Beginnings and 10000 Renown in the main story.
