Sony Pictures Television Networks

Sony Pictures Television Networks is a division of Sony Pictures Television that broadcasts programs on the SPT Networks.

1st Logo (2012)

Visuals: There is an extreme close-up of the words "SONY PICTURES TELEVISION NETWORKS" (in the Sony corporate typeface), stacked word-by-word with "SONY" being the largest, emerging and zooming away downwards from the screen. The three words are not directly stacked at first, but as the animation progresses, they slide into place. A horizontal line is drawn between the "PICTURES" and "TELEVISION". While this happens, there is a bright white light on the left side of the screen that later reveals the names; as the light dies down, the lines in the background themselves back away as well, eventually moving back to the upper part of the screen and into a diagonal pattern to form the logo. The flash dissipates and there is an oblong orange-white glare surrounding the logo and words, which shrinks into the bars to give it a shine. The finished logo, which is a striped parallelogram, appears against a shaded navy blue background.

Trivia: This is exactly the same as the long version of the 2002 Sony Pictures Television logo, but the text "NETWORKS" added below.

Audio: A descending piano tune and a majestic 5-note orchestral theme composed by David Kurtz. This is essentially the long version of the 2002 Sony Pictures Television music playing in this logo.

2nd Logo (October 13, 2016-Late 2010s)

Visuals: The Sony Corporation logo animates the way that it does in the SPT logo. However, the flash reveals the bars of the logo forming. The text fades in below and the entire logo zooms out to the center of the screen, with a blue light in the bottom right corner.

Audio: The short version of the SPT music that comes after the flash.

Availability: First appeared on season 5 of The Amazing Race Asia on AXN Asia, and formally appeared on The Apartment: Rising Stars Edition on Sony Channel Asia, which is their first original TV series. It also appears on season 2 onwards of Asia's Got Talent on AXN Asia and on YouTube prints (after the long FremantleMedia logo), but this logo was allegedly retired as Sony Channel Asia shut down in 2019 and the Asian feed of AXN was sold to KC Global Media, a company of former Sony Pictures Entertainment executives Andy Kaplan and George Chien, in January 2020.
