Device management restrictions for Apple TV devices

You can set restrictions for Apple TV devices that enroll in a device management service. The default state for all restrictions listed below is on unless the words “Default is off” are in the Restriction Functionality column.

Note: Not all restrictions are available in all device management services, and they have the ability to change the default state for any restriction. To learn more about device management restriction availability for your devices, consult your developer’s device management service documentation.

Proximity AutoFill	tvOS 12	Yes	Users’ devices won’t advertise themselves to nearby devices for passwords by use of Proximity AutoFill.
Playback of explicit music, video, and podcast content	tvOS 11.3	No	Explicit music or video content purchased from the iTunes Store or downloaded from the Podcasts app is hidden. Explicit content is flagged by content providers, such as record labels, when sold through the iTunes Store.
Explicit content in Apple Books	tvOS 11.3	No	Explicit content purchased from Apple Books is hidden. Explicit content is flagged by content providers when sold through the Books app.
Ratings region	tvOS 11.3	No	Ratings are set by selecting one of nine different regions. This setting can’t be turned off. The default is United States.
Define content ratings	tvOS 11.3	No	The maximum allowed ratings are selected for movies, TV shows, and apps purchased in iTunes.
Restrict app usage	tvOS 11	Yes	Any apps other than Settings or Phone (on iPhone) can be placed on either an approved list or a disapproved one. To allow all Web Clips, you need to add the value `com.apple.webapp`. Important: Add `com.apple.ShortcutsActions` to this restriction’s array if a Shortcut action requires permission to run.
Modify device name	tvOS 11	Yes	Users can’t change the name of the device as shown in Settings > General > About.
App Lock	tvOS 10.2	Yes	Allows only a single app to be used on an Apple TV.
