Cellular Private Network device management payload settings for Apple devices

You can configure Cellular Private Network settings for users of an iPhone, iPad, or Shared iPad that enrolls in a device management service. Use this payload to provide device info on private network deployments, including geographical location, preference over Wi-Fi, and network deployment type.

The Cellular Private Network payload supports the following. For more information, see Payload information.

Supported payload identifier: com.apple.cellularprivatenetwork.managed
Supported operating systems and channels: iOS 17, iPadOS 17, Shared iPad device.
Supported enrollment methods: User Enrollment, Device Enrollment, Automated Device Enrollment.
Duplicates allowed: False—only one Cellular Private Network payload can be delivered to a device.

Preferred cellular data	Prefer the cellular private network over Wi-Fi.	No
Data set name	The name of the private network configuration data set.	Yes
Version number	The version number of this dataset that the system uses to track updates.	Yes
Geofences	A list of up to 1000 geofences for private networks. Geofencing is used only on iPhone.	No
