What’s new in Logic Pro 10.3

Alchemy

Logic now includes Alchemy, an easy to use yet powerful sample manipulation synthesizer. Alchemy features additive, spectral and granular synthesis and resynthesis, sampling, and virtual analog engines, and offers realtime performance controls and an extensive preset library. MIDI Controllers

For supported USB MIDI controllers, Logic Pro supports automatic assignment of hardware controls, including buttons, knobs, and faders, to Smart Controls and other functions. See Automatic MIDI controller assignment in Logic Pro.

Editing

Extended MIDI editing options: Create and edit MIDI data using new features and tools including Note Repeat, Spot Erase, the Brush tool, and Collapse view.

Mixing

VCA groups: You can use VCA channel strips to control the volume, or automate a submix, of tracks that are assigned to the VCA group.

Instruments and effects

Plug-in Manager: You can organize and manage plug-ins in the Plug-in Manager, create new plug-in categories, rename or remove existing plug-ins, and search for individual plug-ins by name.

Compressor: The Compressor plug-in has been redesigned.
