Anyone living outside Japan may become a member of the Japanese Society of Hypertension (JSH). All members are entitled to access the electronic version of the Hypertension Research.

The Japanese Society of Hypertension (JSH) is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 1978. The mission of JSH is to promote basic and clinical research and educational activities for the prevention, detection and management of hypertension and related disorders. Since its foundation, JSH has had 4,709 members (as of March 17, 2023) of cardiologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, epidemiologists, physiologists, chemists, pathologists, pharmacologists, and general practitioners.

The annual scientific meeting of JSH is held in autumn, attracting more than 2,000 national and international participants. Hypertension Research, the official journal of JSH, is a monthly vehicle of peer-reviewed novel information as to the latest scientific progress in the area of hypertension. The number of submitted papers is now dramatically increasing. JSH also supports basic and clinical research, hosts educational lectures, and awards distinguished achievements in the field of hypertension.
