Makes you Quick-Spin.
— Kirby Air Ride North American instruction booklet, page 28

Panic Spin[1] is an item which appears exclusively in City Trial, in Kirby Air Ride and Kirby Air Riders. It is primarily found inside green boxes, but can also be found out in the open or occasionally inside the Castle Hall secret chamber in Kirby Air Ride, and inside rare boxes in Kirby Air Riders. Panic Spin can also appear in Dustup Derby.

When a rider picks up a Panic Spin, they will immediately drop any other item they may have, and start Quick Spinning for an extended period of time. While spinning, the rider can steer and glide as usual, but will be unable to get off their machine until the spin concludes. The continuous spin allows riders to quickly break boxes open and send unmanned machines flying. In Kirby Air Ride, if a rider hits an opponent while spinning, they will be sent flying similarly to the Tornado ability, and if the rider is hit while spinning, the item will end early.

In Kirby Air Ride, Kirby can collect other items and use them while spinning. Notoriously, if he picks up a Fireworks cone, he will be unable to shoot straight with it.
