The Battle Chariot is a chariot-type Air Ride Machine that appears in Kirby Air Riders. It is more cumbersome to handle than the Chariot, but possesses far greater combat ability as the name suggests.

Appearance[edit]
The Battle Chariot is one of the largest machines in the game, taking on a highly rugged appearance. It has a relatively flat, dark army green body with thick grooves in the front. The back of the vehicle has a silver line and a spoiler-like overhang that is a slightly lighter green with dark stripes. The front of the Battle Chariot has four bone-like tusks that curve upwards, with the two outer tusks being much larger. There are also holes just above the big tusks with dark interiors and red outlines, resembling "eyes". When holding the boost button, these "eyes" glow a fierce red. At the back of the Battle Chariot there is a massive, frayed exhaust pipe on the left-hand side, with a neighboring (albeit much smaller) one to its righthand side. The small pipe emits some dark fumes, but the larger one spouts heavy smog and flame while the vehicle is in motion. Both cease doing so when the machine is charging a boost, but when it releases one, a large spurt of flames emerges from the large exhaust. Additionally, the back of the Battle Chariot has a large taillight covered by a patterned grill, which glows red and emits a thick red trail when the machine is charging.
Like the Chariot, it possesses two massive wheels, though these are connected to the main body via spring-like connections. These wheels are huge and metallic, with large screws being visible on the outside. The interior sides of the wheels are a metallic red, with the exterior side having green plating (though the red is still visible beneath and in the center). A particularly large metallic plate can be observed in the center of each wheel and is where the "springs" connect. The tires themselves have a jagged appearance, with alternating large plates that jut out and have bolt-like protrusions. When boost charging, fiery trails can be observed underneath the wheels briefly.
Mechanics[edit]
As a chariot-type machine, the Battle Chariot loses very little speed while it is turning. It can reach an impressive ground speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) when ridden by Kirby, but has very poor acceleration and boosting capabilities in addition to sluggish turning. To compensate, the Battle Chariot has some of the best combat statistics in the game, boasting very high offense, defense, HP, and weight, though it is completely unable to glide. Also with Kirby, it can fall at speeds up to 66 mph (107 km/h), and like bikes, it gains speed from jumping off of ramps (though the inclination of the ramp impacts how much speed one gets from it).
Broadly, this machine fulfills a similar niche to the Rex Wheelie. In Air Ride, this vehicle's excellent top speed makes it generally a good option in tracks that don't feature many turns, such as Mount Amberfalls. It will struggle at more winding courses, though not as much as the previously mentioned Rex Wheelie, as its handling is marginally better. Likewise, in City Trial, it does well in Stadiums such as Beam Gauntlet and Drag Race. Its most notable strength in this mode however comes from its combat abilities, which are among the most potent of any machine in the game (barring legendary vehicles like the Hydra). Battle Chariot actively benefits from engaging in many combat encounters, as it is capable of defeating most other machines it encounters with relative ease due to its sheer offense. This also makes it excel when there are Field Events that funnel many players into one location (such as when Dyna Blade appears). It goes without saying that it fares extremely well in Stadiums such as Dustup Derby and Big Battle, though any stadium with gliding (like High Jump) should be avoided. It is also generally not good in handling stadiums like Gourmet Race, though a strategy one can use is to enter such a Stadium and win by retiring the opposition.
How to unlock[edit]
The Battle Chariot must be unlocked for use in the game's main modes. It can be unlocked through the Top Ride Checklist or the Miles Shop, where it can be purchased for 9,700 Miles. Whenever an additional Battle Chariot is earned through either means, it is modifiable in the My Machine mode.

For Road Trip, the Battle Chariot must be unlocked separately by either jumping onto one whilst on the road or purchasing it from a shop if it was not obtained the previous way. It can be found in Foundry Thoroughfare.
