Change the chord rhythm in Logic Pro for Mac

The rate at which chords change is called the chord rhythm. You can halve or double the chord rhythm of a chord group, or of the chords on a Session Player region, which affects the chords as follows:

  • Halve the chord rhythm: Chords change half as quickly (each chord lasts twice as long).

  • Double the chord rhythm: Chords change twice as quickly (each chord lasts half as long).

Halve the chord rhythm of a chord group on the Chord track

  • In Logic Pro, Control-click the chord group, then choose Halve Chord Rhythm from the shortcut menu.

Halve the chord rhythm of a Session Player region

  • In Logic Pro, do one of the following:

    • Control-click a Session Player region in the Tracks area, then choose Chords > Halve Chord Rhythm from the shortcut menu.

    • Select the region in the Tracks area, then choose Chords > Halve Chord Rhythm from the Session Player Editor menu bar.

Double the chord rhythm of a chord group on the Chord track

  • In Logic Pro, Control-click the chord group, then choose Double Chord Rhythm from the shortcut menu.

Double the chord rhythm of a Session Player region

  • In Logic Pro, do one of the following:

    • Control-click a Session Player region in the Tracks area, then choose Chords > Double Chord Rhythm from the shortcut menu.

    • Select the region in the Tracks area, then choose Chords > Double Chord Rhythm from the Session Player Editor menu bar.
