Select regions in the Logic Pro for Mac Audio Track Editor

In Logic Pro for Mac, you can select one or more regions in the Audio Track Editor, select regions meeting certain criteria, and select sections inside regions using the Marquee tool. The cursor automatically changes into the Marquee tool in the lower half of the Audio Track Editor, except for the lower-right and lower-left corners of regions, where the cursor changes to a trim pointer.

Select a region

  • In the Logic Pro Audio Track Editor, click a region in the Audio Track Editor.

Select multiple regions

In the Logic Pro Audio Track Editor, do one of the following:

  • Press and hold Shift as you click the regions.

  • Drag across the regions.

Select the previous or next region on the track

In the Logic Pro Audio Track Editor, do one of the following:

  • To select the previous region: Choose Edit > Select > Previous Region.

  • To select the next region: Choose Edit > Select > Next Region.

Select all following regions on the track

  • In Logic Pro, choose Edit > Select > All Following of Same Track.

Select all regions on the track

  • In the Logic Pro Audio Track Editor, click the track header in the Tracks area.

Select content inside regions using the Marquee tool

  • In the lower half of the Logic Pro Audio Track Editor, drag across the material that you wish to select with the Marquee tool.
