Convert regions into different region types in Logic Pro for iPad

You can convert a region to a different region type in Logic Pro for iPad. The new region replaces the previous region on the same track.

Convert a MIDI region into a pattern region

  1. In the Tracks area in Logic Pro, select the MIDI region.

  2. Tap the selected MIDI region, tap Convert, then tap Convert to Pattern Region.

Convert a pattern region into a MIDI region

  1. In the Tracks area in Logic Pro, select the pattern region.

  2. Tap the selected pattern region, tap Convert, then tap Convert to MIDI Region.

Replace a MIDI or pattern region with a Session Player region

  1. In the Tracks area in Logic Pro, select the MIDI or pattern region.

  2. Tap the selected MIDI or pattern region, tap Convert, then tap Replace with Session Player Region.

Convert a Session Player region into a MIDI or pattern region

  1. In the Tracks area in Logic Pro, select the Session Player region.

  2. Tap the selected Session Player region, tap Convert, then tap Convert to MIDI Region or Convert to Pattern Region.

Note: If a MIDI or Session Player region is longer than four bars, then converting it into a pattern region splits it into multiple regions, each with a maximum length of four bars.
