Alchemy extended parameters in Logic Pro for Mac
Alchemy provides additional parameters that are accessed by clicking the disclosure arrow at the lower left of the interface.
Extended parameters
MIDI Mono Mode pop-up menu: Choose Off, On (with common base channel 1), or On (with common base channel 16).
In either mode, each voice receives on a different MIDI channel. Per voice channels support pitchbend, aftertouch, modwheel, and Performance control assignment messages. See Alchemy performance controls in Logic Pro for Mac. Controllers and MIDI messages sent on the base channel affect all voices.
Mono Mode Bend Range slider: Set a value from 0 to 96.
The chosen pitch bend range affects individual note pitchbend messages received on all but the common base channel. The default is 48 semitones, which is compatible with the GarageBand for iOS keyboard in pitch mode. When using a MIDI guitar, 24 semitones is the preferable setting because most guitar to MIDI converters use this range by default.
Ctrl A pop-up menu: Choose a MIDI continuous controller as a source for use with the MIDI options in the modulation rack. CC#2 (Breath) is assigned by default.
Ctrl B pop-up menu: Choose a MIDI continuous controller as a source for use with the MIDI options in the modulation rack. CC#4 (Footpedal) is assigned by default.
Ctrl C pop-up menu: Choose a MIDI continuous controller as a source for use with the MIDI options in the modulation rack. CC#74 (Brightness) is assigned by default.
Ctrl D pop-up menu: Choose a MIDI continuous controller as a source for use with the MIDI options in the modulation rack. CC#75 (General purpose) is assigned by default.
Ctrl 71-78 Bipolar: When selected, a continuous controller (for example, CC#74) with a value range of 0–127 applies its value 0 to the baseline of the parameter it is modulating (for example, the cutoff frequency). With the checkbox selected, value 64 of CC#74 applies to the baseline of the cutoff frequency, with values 64–127 opening the filter, and values 64–0 closing the filter.
Arp Overlap Legacy Mode checkbox: When selected, any overlapping note (a MIDI note that is repeating before its previous note has stopped) isn't included in the arpeggiated sequence.
