Browse your photo collections on Mac
Your photos and videos are organized into collections, including Memories, Pinned, Albums, People & Pets, and more.
View your collections
Go to the Photos app
on your Mac.In the sidebar, click Collections.
Click the name of a collection to open it.
Change how collections are displayed
Collections can be viewed with larger or smaller image thumbnails, or without any images at all. You can also change the order in which collections appear.
Go to the Photos app
on your Mac.In the sidebar, click Collections.
Do any of the following:
Increase or decrease the size of collection thumbnails: Click
or 
in the toolbar.Hide collection thumbnails: Click
in the toolbar, then choose Collapse All. To view the collection thumbnails again, click , then choose Show All.Change the collection order: Click
in the toolbar, then choose Reorder. Drag a collection into a new position in the list, then click Done in the toolbar.
Reorder collections in the sidebar
You can change the order of collections in the sidebar. For example, if you frequently view Imports, you can move it above other collections in Utilities. You can also change the order of Pinned, Albums, Sharing, Media Types, Utilities, and Projects.
Go to the Photos app
on your Mac.In the sidebar, drag a collection up or down in the list.
Pin and unpin collections and albums
You can choose which collections and albums appear below Pinned at the top of the sidebar. Pin the collections and albums you view most often so they’re easy to find.
Go to the Photos app
on your Mac.In the sidebar, Control-click a collection, then do one of the following:
Pin a collection: Choose Pin.
Unpin a pinned collection: Choose Unpin.
Expand and collapse collections in the sidebar
You can expand and collapse collections in the sidebar to focus on the ones you want to view. For example, if you don’t want to see a list of your projects or albums in the sidebar, you can collapse Projects or Albums.

on your Mac.In the sidebar, do one of the following:
Expand a collection: Hold the pointer over a collection category, then click
when it appears.Collapse a collection: Hold the pointer over a collection category, then click
when it appears.
