If you’re new to the GitHub Community, we’d still love for you to introduce yourself, just in a new way. Instead of replying in one big introduction thread, we’re now asking everyone to create their own introduction post in A Welcome to GitHub.

This gives people more room to have real conversations, makes it easier to meet others with similar interests, and helps you find fellow peers without getting lost in a huge mega discussion. It also makes it easier for the community to welcome you properly and keep introductions feeling personal. ❤️

Check out our "Welcome to A Welcome to GitHub 👋" best practices discussion to know the dos and don'ts in the new category and how to create an exciting introduction discussion - here's an example to help you shape yours.

So if you’d like to say hi, head over to A Welcome to GitHub and start your own introduction thread. Share a little about who you are, what you’re interested in, and what you’d like to learn or build. Then take the moment to look at other folks’ introduction threads, get to know folks in this space.

We’re excited to meet you there. 👍
