Patch Castle is the first and only stage of Quilty Square. It is the tutorial stage for Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, and introduces the player to the controls and mechanics of the game. Patch Castle is also the inspiration for the first stage of Dedede Gogogo in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn.

Overview[edit]
This stage takes place in Prince Fluff's royal castle, starting off in front of the gates of Quilty Square, serving the purpose as a tutorial for many common interactions, movement controls, and Transformations the player can take advantage of. In order, the stage features a ledge with a sign demonstrating how to jump as the Spring, a wall blocked by Yarn Blocks with a sign demonstrating how to unravel an object with the player's Yarn Whip, a platform with a sign demonstrating how to Roll Up a respawning Dropso, another wall blocked by Cloth Blocks with a sign demonstrating how to throw a yarn ball, a pool of water with a sign demonstrating how to swim as the Submarine, a ladder with a sign demonstrating how to climb and descend a ladder, a patch containing beads with a sign demonstrating how to pull a tag with the yarn whip to reveal a secret, and a structure featuring windows and doorways with a sign demonstrating how to go between the foreground and background. The stage transitions into Patch Castle. This section features a vertical trail of purple beads with a sign demonstrating how to fall gently to the ground as the Parachute, a ledge too tall to jump up with a sign demonstrating how to pull drawstrings with the Yarn Whip to a reveal secret, a wide gap with a sign demonstrating how to swing from a button with the Yarn Whip as the Pendulum, a hole in the floor filled by Cloth Blocks with a sign demonstrating how to fall fast and destroy things as the Weight, a longer stretch of ground with a sign demonstrating how to move faster as the Car, and at the end of the stage is the Bonus Bell with a sign demonstrating how to end the stage by grabbing the bell with the Yarn Whip.
After beating this stage, Kirby and Prince Fluff are attacked by a giant blob of yarn in a cutscene, which is quickly defeated and yields a piece of the Magic Yarn. This unlocks the next stage, Grass Land.
