Labotory (plural: Labotories[1]) is an enemy that debuted in Kirby: Planet Robobot. It is a small round creature with a physique similar to Kirby. It wears a gray body suit with a scuba-like mask and wields a flail, which it extends toward Kirby to do him harm. It can be swallowed, but yields no Copy Ability.
Labotories appear to be a parallel to Waddle Dees. Their Japanese names are similarly formatted and they have similar appearances and movement patterns. According to official comments from the "Kirby: Planet Robobot Drawing and Screenshot Challenge", Labotories are the science staff for the Haltmann Works Company, and specialize in developing the weapons the company uses. They were hired from another planet, and are deeply loyal to the company, singing its anthem every morning.[1] This can be seen as a parallel to the relationship between King Dedede and his Waddle Dees.
