You Wake Up in a Room. Or a Creepy Basement, to be precise, chained to a wall, with a very fuzzy idea why. You do have a note in your pocket warning that "the Killer will strike again tomorrow" and that they must be stopped, as soon as you figure out which of the suspects is the Killer.

Better find out which one of these tropes is the Killer before it's too late
- Amnesiac Hero: The Protagonist wakes up groggy, wondering whether they have been drinking, but — as they're chained to a wall — Tap on the Head seems a more likely cause. The protagonist decides later they must have been drugged, Locked Up and Left Behind. Their memories return gradually over the course of the game... until the final reveal that the entire setup was a Werewolf Kennel, the "suspects" were the people who helped build it (and drug the protagonist into sleeping through the full moon), and becoming a Fully-Embraced Fiend is an option.
- Controllable Helplessness: Until you've figured out how to unshackle the protagonist, they can't examine most of the room, or even the bottom of their own pockets.
- Conveniently Interrupted Document: The notebook is missing the single page that explains code names for the suspects, so the player has to piece the information together.
- Enter Solution Here: Most of the puzzles, really. Some passwords need to be decoded, some merely found. The main puzzle of the game consists of finding the combinations for the three locks holding the protagonist in the basement.
- Lightswitch Surprise: The basement is only lit by a single candle at first, but after you figure out how to get some more light, a lot of useful stuff gets revealed.
- Lock and Key Puzzle: Plenty, with an interesting mechanic — the keys each have passwords written on them, and those passwords must be entered to open locks.You turn the key around in your hand admiring the fine craftsmanship.
- Lunacy: Starting with the title, the game keeps hinting at the Moon — it's prominent in the Spooky Painting and Moon-related passwords abound, adding to the mood. The almanac page you find in one of the drawers has more Moon (and insanity) related trivia, further adding to the mood. And read the writing on the wall... and these are not the only clues that the protagonist is a werewolf (or a lunatic) of some sort and has committed the murders themself.
- Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: The killer may be a werewolf — or simply an insane person obsessed with the Moon.
According to the author:It’s left to you to decide on the final genre of the story (but there really are a lot of full-moon references…) - Room Full of Crazy: Downplayed, the insane ramblings are only scratched in a single spot on one wall and hidden in the dark until you light the room. They are also a clue.
- Serial Killer: Whoever the Killer is, they have killed at least twice already and aren't going to stop at that.
- Spooky Painting: The nocturne (painted by one of the suspects) hanging on the basement wall makes the protagonist "feel uneasy for some reason". It may be simply because it depicts a full Moon.
- String Theory: On the dark wall, revealed when you figure out how to get light. Most of the pictures have fallen to the floor, though, and are now "a jumbled mess" (still full of clues).
- Victorian London: The background, although the game takes place in a single basement room.
- You Wake Up in a Room: Chained to a wall in a serial killer's basement. The first puzzle is finding the key to unchain yourself. An early clue to the final resolution is that this key is hidden in the protagonist's shoe, because the actual purpose of this room is keeping the protagonist from killing people and they set it up themself.
