Kevin & Perry Go Large is a 2000 British Coming of Age Sex Comedy film directed by Ed Bye, starring Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke based on Enfields's sketch comedy series Harry Enfield & Chums.

Kevin (Enfield) and Perry (Burke) are two teenage best friends who love electronic music and want to get girlfriends. When they're brought along on a holiday to Ibiza with Kevin's parents Ray (James Fleet) and Shiela (Louisa Rix), they aim to use the opportunity to hit it big musically by gaining the friendship superstar DJ Eyeball Paul (Rhys Ifans) and lose their virginities to two equally hormone-addled and awkward girls, Candice and Gemma (Laura Fraser and Tabitha Wady). Needless to say, Hilarity Ensues.

This film contains examples of the following tropes:

• '80s Hair: When Kevin imagines his parents conceiving him, they have a perm and mullet as Funny Flashback Haircuts.
• Above the Influence: Kevin doesn't physically take advantage of the drunk girl at the party, barring an attempt to kiss her, whereupon she bites his tongue out of reflex. He does claim that they did have sex when Perry asks, though.
• Accidental Hero: Kevin foils a bank robbery with his erection.
• Adaptation Name Change: Kevin's father is named Ray here. He was called Dave early on in the TV show and later Frank.
• All Men Are Perverts: Kevin and Perry salivate over anything female, and Eyeball Paul has 'club babes' with names like 'Buttasha', 'Twattia' and 'Wankette'.
• All Women Are Lustful: Kevin's mother is certainly no prude and the other girls in Ibiza are down for dirty fun themselves.
• Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: After the car wash scene, Kevin and Perry are trudging home, complaining that they're too intellectual for manual labor only to be immediately distracted by an ongoing house party.
• Beach Episode: This is the film version of the "Kevin The Teenager" sketches, predating The Inbetweeners by a decade.
• Beautiful All Along: Candice and Gemma, at least once they spend several hours getting ready.
• Blatant Lies: Perry goes to apologize to Kevin after the latter discovered that he had filmed his parents having sex the night before. Rather than admit what he did was wrong and to get himself off the hook, Perry spins a ridiculous yarn about how he was filming an "interesting lizard" and that he followed it into Kevin's parents room and didn't notice them making love because the lizard was really interesting. Kevin either believes him or doesn't seem to care, because he forgives him immediately after.
  • The girl (as mentioned below) who claims to have slept with Kevin before he became famous, despite loudly stating that she would never ever have sex with him.
• Brake Angrily: Baz does this with the limo in order to get Eyeball Paul to stop putting his hands up Candice and Gemma's dresses.
• Brick Joke:
  • The girl who Kevin lied about sleeping with at the house party early in the film appears at the end now claiming to have slept with him before he was famous.
  • When trying to raise money to pay for their trip to Ibiza, Kevin and Perry are paid with a boiled egg each for washing a woman's car, which they are obviously disappointed with. Eyeball Paul later pays them the exact same way for doing menial tasks around his villa.
• Broken Pedestal: Eyeball Paul. Kevin and Perry idolise him initially and see him as their way to becoming superstar DJs. However, he uses them to perform all the dirty jobs around his villa. What really seals it is his attempt to humiliate the lads by playing the sex tape of Kevin's parents and messages to Candice and Gemma before threatening to destroy their white label mix. At this point, Big Baz has enough of him and punches him off the stage.
• Call-Back: Kevin's parents sing "Wonderwall" to each other, much to Kevin's disgust. Kevin and Perry were both established to be fans of Oasis during the original sketches.
• Catchphrase: Many.
  • "THAT IS SO UNFAIR!"

• Caught with Your Pants Down: In the opening scene, Kevin is having a fantasy about shagging Anne Boleyn.
  Sheila: Kevin! How's your homework going?
  Kevin: Fine, until you came in! (throws book into a corner)
• Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Kevin's older brother was never mentioned after the second season of Harry Enfield's Television Programme but here Kevin thinks his parents only had sex once to conceive him.
• Coming of Age Story: Albeit a very weird one featuring a hilariously exaggerated depiction of the lives of two teenage boys.
• Creator Cameo: Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke's starring roles aside, director Ed Bye appears as one of the Germans.
• Cringe Comedy: Oh, yes. From the boys' lame attempts to pick up women to them having to listen to Kevin's parents get it on, it's everywhere.
• The Dog Bites Back: Big Baz punches out Eyeball Paul at the end of the film after taking too much abuse from him.
• Dream Intro: It starts in 1536 with Kevin as the executioner about to behead Anne Boleyn but she persuades him to spare her in exchange for sex. It turns out to be Kevin daydreaming over a history book.
• Everybody Has Lots of Sex: The main reason Kevin and Perry want to go to Ibiza is that this apparently happens over there. For the majority of the film, the only characters who actually do have sex are Kevin's parents until the finale, where several characters (including the man in the suitcase) are screwing on the beach.
• Extreme Doormat: Kevin and Perry become Eyeball Paul's bitches in order to get into his good graces so he will play their mix at a popular nightclub. They don't seem to mind however and sing his praises even when the man isn't around. Paul returns the favour by attempting to publicly humiliate them.
• Eye Scream: During the end credits, Eyeball Paul's habit of taking vodka directly into his eyeball comes back to bite him, when he finds it's detached and is now floating in the bottle.
• Fanservice Extra: One of the girls in Kevin's funeral Imagine Spot shows up wearing only a Black Bra and Panties. There's also a number of topless girls at an Ibiza beach and the bank teller with the prominent cleavage in the bank robbery scene.
• Funny Flashback Haircut: When Kevin imagines his conception, he pictures his mother with a perm and his father with a mullet.
• Gag Penis: Kevin and Perry's random erections are a Running Gag throughout the film. Kevin even foils a bank robbery when his erection sets off the alarm.
• Gay Best Friend: Candice and Gemma have a pair of these who are a couple. Kevin and Perry intially mistake them for the girls' boyfriends.
• Germanic Efficiency: The Germans march everywhere in step like a military formation and even dance that way.
• Have I Mentioned I Am Sexually Active Today?: Kevin lies to Perry that he slept with Sharon at the house party, leading to a hateful confrontation and public smackdown from her in the street. At the end of the movie, Sharon gleefully tells everyone that she had slept with Kevin before he was famous.
• Home Porn Movie: Perry films Kevin's parents in the act and Eyeball Paul ends up broadcasting it in the club with Kevin and Perry's song. It works out, as the lads' mix becomes massively successful and Kevin's parents go on to write a book on sex.
• Hormone-Addled Teenager: Kevin and Perry are a pair of utter perverts who just want to lose their virginities. Candice and Gemma too, to a lesser extent.
• Jerkass: Eyeball Paul, who uses Kevin and Perry's admiration of him to his own ends.
  Eyeball Paul: You'll see I've just had a bangin' shit in the bog. Won't flush. You might have to push it down.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Kevin - he's horrible to his parents, but he really does love them, as shown how he hugs them and expresses appreciation for them while they comfort him after he and Perry have an argument.
• Likes Older Women: Carrying over from the original sketch show, Perry lusts over Kevin's mother, a woman in her forties. He repeatedly gets an erection when around her, and even secretly films her having sex with her husband. He still does express interest in women closer to his age too, so it's not exclusive.
• Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Kevin and Perry end up losing their virginity on a beach alongside a load of other people having sex. Seeing as it's Ibiza, it's probably more normal there.
• Meaningful Name: Eyeball Paul is called so because he pours bottles of vodka into his eye. He explains that the alcohol gets into his bloodstream quicker this way. Comes back to bite him in the end, as his eyeball winds up detaching and falling into the bottle.
• The Nicknamer: Eyeball Paul insists on calling Kevin and Perry "Ginger Pubes" and "Sad Act" instead of using their names.
• Nonconsensual Pornography: During their Ibiza holiday, Perry overhears Kevin's parents having loud sex in the bedroom next door and climbs onto the balcony with a video camera in order to film them. DJ Eyeball Paul then gets his hands on the tape and shows it to the guests at his nightclub on a giant screen during his set.
• "Not So Different" Remark: Kevin's mother tells Kevin that the problem with him and his father is that they're too alike. Both of them state together, "What?! That is so unfair!"
• Oh, Crap!: Kevin and Perry share one when they discover that Eyeball Paul has spliced the video that Perry recorded of Mr and Mrs Patterson having sex into their mix, and is playing it in front of dozens of people at the nightclub, including Kevin's parents. They stop caring however when their song turns out to be a hit.
• Parental Sexuality Squick: Kevin is openly disgusted at even the slightest thought of his parents getting it on. Doubly so when Perry films them in the act.
• The Peeping Tom: Perry records Kevin's parents having sex from outside their hotel bedroom window.
• Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure: Kevin falls out with Perry after he finds out that Perry videoed his parents having sex.
• Precision F-Strike: Eyeball Paul's "Fuck! Off!" with each hand.
• Prison Rape: Perry worries about this happening if he and Kevin get caught for credit card fraud.
  Perry: We'll go to prison and get buggered by bigger boys.
  Kevin: You will. You're small.
• Product Placement: The opening credits shows Kevin's street in suburbia with about 10 Ford Focuses parked on every driveway.
• Raging Stiffie: Several times. Most notably during the foiled bank robbery, when Kevin gets hard looking at the bank teller's cleavage and accidentally hits the police panic alarm under the desk with his penis.
• Right Through His Pants:
  • The final scene on the beach when Kevin and Perry finally get together with Candice and Gemma. Averted with Kevin's parents.
  • If you look closely, among the various couples having sex on the beach is the man in the suitcase, who is having sex with a woman in a suitcase.
• The Runaway: An angsty Kevin yells that he's running away forever. We next see him squatting in some wet bushes at night, but when his mother calls him in for his dinner, we see he didn't make it past the back garden of his house.
• She Cleans Up Nicely: Candice and Gemma after they get rid of their pimples and wax themselves.
• Speed Sex: Due to Parental Sexuality Squick, Kevin likes to think his parents only did it the once in about a second to conceive him.
• Teens Are Monsters: A less extreme example, but Kevin certainly behaves like a monster toward his parents. Except when he's had a row with Perry and is upset.
• Their First Time: Candice admits it was her first time too after she and Kevin do it.
• Toilet Humor: The 'floater' scene.
• Virgin-Shaming: Pre-Ibiza, Kevin and Perry are subjected to a malicious chant of "Virgins! Virgins! Virgins!" by what seems an entire street full of their peers.
• Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Some guys on a balcony puke on Kevin and Perry on their first date with the girls.
