The Super Homer Saga
by IHVNNM
- Recommended by Great Pikmin Fan
- Seconded by The Cuza, who read this years before he ever heard of TV Tropes. In fact, the only reason he's on this page right now is because he saw it pop up in the Twitter feed and wanted to check if anyone had recommended it already. Thanks for saving me some typing, bro.

- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: "I'm flunking maths, and the other day I was a little attracted to Milhouse." Bart and Milhouse in the treehouse after school and Bart considers the family factor and feels something...out of place.
- Comments: Not a real slash story per say, but what it actually is can't really be described. It encourages the reader to take it as they will. The imagery and descriptions of feeling and emotion are breathtakingly beautiful.

The Ballad of Lenny and Carl

- Recommended by: mkmlp
- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: Homer leaves behind a letter for his children to find after he's gone, sharing feelings he had about them he couldn't convey in life.
- Pretty sappy, but in a good way. The things Homer says to his children are heartfelt, while still feeling like something Homer would think, if not directly say.

Because her older brother, Bart, is about to head off to college, which has caused Maggie to ruminate on the sad fact that she has never been able to build as close a relationship with her older siblings as they have with each other.
- Just a melancholy little one shot about an older Maggie thinking about her relationship with her now about old enough to leave siblings.

In the Shadow of Authority
by henrydavid![]()
- Recommended by: Lumearchibald
- Status: Ongoing
- Synopsis: After losing his wife, Gary Chalmers slowly begins to warm up to his incompetent subordinate as they develop throughout the series.
- Pairing(s): Superintendent Gary Chalmers x Principal Seymour Skinner
- Comments: First of all, Rosemary Chalmers is canon to the show but it's a crime it has yet to reveal anything about her past or with Chalmers. This fic explores it wonderfully as seen through the perspective of Chalmers as he prepares for the inevitable fate of his wife. While the story is mainly a shipping fic, I don't see much 'ship' interaction between them yet until further reading. Worth a read and has great lore continuity than the actual show.

The Simpsons vs. Arthur
by Owennumber1fan![]()
- Recommended by: SuperMiz
- Status: Complete
- Crossover with: Arthur
- Synopsis: Despite what the title says, there's no actual fighting. Instead, the Simpson family moves to Elwood City when Homer is put in charge of its new nuclear plant, and interacts with the cast of Arthur.
- Pairing(s): Arthur/Sue Ellen
- Tropes page: here
- Comments: A very funny story that is true to both shows while nicely juxtaposing the adult humour of The Simpsons against the more family-friendly stuff of Arthur (see how they react when Homer strangles Bart, for example). If you're a fan of both shows and want to laugh, this is the fic for you. The Arthur/Sue Ellen romance does come out of nowhere unless you've read the author's earlier work Sue Ellen's Secret Crush though. All in all, a good story and highly recommended.
