Haze
- Ambiguous Situation: The reveal of Echika's origins also brings up the question of whether or not Cross and Forte are blood-related siblings, a question that never gets confirmed in the main game. Forte does question it, but Cross brushes her off saying it doesn't matter, since she and Echika are his sisters regardless.
- Beneath Notice: Both siblings wear relatively civilian looking outfits, but given they're both members of a spec-ops organization this means they can easily blend into a crowd without anyone knowing that they're part of a NINJA outfit.
- Big Brother Instinct: They're both very protective of Echika, ready to get violent the moment someone throws even a hint of a threat at her. They take out robot assassins regularly when nobody is around, really selling how hard they work to protect their little sister. Cross also has this double, as he has two little sisters to protect, as he mentions to himself in some inner thoughts during Forte's campaign.
- Casting Gag: Alluding to their Ninja status, both are voiced by voice actors with at least one experience of voicing Ninja characters despite their comparatively new status in the business.
- Kazumasa Fukugawa (Cross) previously dubbed the Japanese version of a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena ninja, Hayabusa.
- Aya Yamane (Forte) is the modern voice actress of Rurouni Kenshin's young female ninja, Misao Makimachi.
- Contrasting Sequel Main Character: To Edge and Az from 30, the last mainline game.
- Edge was a would be bad boy who was clowned on by most everyone in the Dreikreuz, becoming the No-Respect Guy of the team, despite his skill as a pilot. Cross, on the other hand, is a well respected and established hero, despite making jokes equally as bad. Cross is also the head of a secret organization, while Edge was on the run from one. Edge was also protective of Az, his little sister, while Cross is willing to fight her as a Secret Test of Character.
- Az was a withdrawn, moody girl with self-confidence issues, so sad in her personality that Mitsuba instantly took pity on her the first time they spoke. Forte has similar self-confidence issues, but deals with it via a confident persona of a Genki Girl that can quip with the best of them and manage to get the respect of Yz-Next. Az also tried to hide her Big Brother Worship, while Forte can't stop talking up Cross. Forte also chose to become a NINJA and endure the training, while Az was on the run with Edge to escape the people trying to force them to be Huckebein pilots.
- Dash Attack: The Lundraches' "Ninja Art: Yojinbu" attack starts with the machine swiftly running towards the enemy before punching them into the air.
- Deadpan Snarker: They might be the head and a member of a super dangerous stealth organization that deals in assassination, but the two of them are quip machines, verging into Pungeon Master territory often. Cross' jokes often fall flat on their face, not unlike Edge in 30, though Cross gets much more respect then Edge did because of his position in Haze and time with other heroes in the Revolutionary War. Comes as a surprise if you did Forte's campaign first, as she builds him up as a super serious The Stoic in comparison to her more Genki Girl persona. An early game highlight comes in Saotome Lab in chapter one, where his grandstanding quips only gets a cold silence from Echika, and there are very few annoying enough to get a reaction from her like that. Forte, on the other hand, gets a much warmer reception.
- Disney Death: They have a fake-out death in the level "Where Resolve Leads", the same level where Messer Ihlefeld actually dies. To prove they don't actually die, there is an Interface Spoiler, where you get a refund for whatever resources you might have spent on Messer, but not them.
- Dub Name Change: Just like its predecessor where "Hopes" is renamed into "Spero", Y has "Oboro", the organization the protagonists belong to, renamed to "Haze" in the international release.
- Experienced Protagonist: Both of them were active during the "Revolutionary War" a year prior to the story, having met and worked alongside the likes of Domon Kasshu and Heero Yui during that time. This is more emphasized with Cross, however, as Forte only just started working during that period, leaving her still a relative newbie.
- Given Name Reveal: Their real names are Yaichi (Cross) and Yachiyo (Forte), as their father, Dr. Yagami refers to them. They're both not pleased at being called with their original names.
- Made of Iron: Despite being given a brutal beatdown by Seivas' new mech that left the Lunedrache crippled, the protagonist is revealed to have suffered only minor cuts and bruises from it, which both Seivas and Negsis can't help but be impressed by. This is especially notable in Cross' case since in his scenario, the Lunedrache was outright destroyed before he could eject.
- Mid-Season Upgrade: The Lunedrache is eventually upgraded to the Yz-Lunedrache. Once again, each of the siblings has their own variant, though this time they also have a different ultimate weapon; Cross's Lunedrache becomes the Yz-Lunedrache Kogetsu, which wields a massive ninjato, while Forte's Lunedrache II is replaced with the Yz-Lunedrache Kaguya and its twin katanas.
- Ninja: The Original Generation protagonists - Cross and Forte Tsukinowa - are members of a modern NINJA (spelled in all caps) group called the Special Stealth Forces Haze. Their mecha is called the Mobile Armored Ninja Lunedrache, a ninja-themed Humongous Mecha that brings to mind Ninja Senshi Tobikage. Of course, they don't bother much about stealth in battlefield. Off-battlefield, they know their ways to be 'invisible'.
- Real Robot: Their Lunedrache units are very much this, being high evasion and accuracy focused machines that struggle with taking damage. Fitting for ninja themed robots for actual ninjas.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: Cross is blue and Forte the red, even in their color theming.
- Reverse Grip: They hold their katanas, as observed by Echika, in a reverse grip position.
- Secret Character: Like Edge and Az in 30, the one you don't pick only joins as a unit if you do all of the extra gold missions.
- Shock and Awe: The Lundraches' "Ninja Art: Tenraiken" attack ends with the machine calling lightning down on the enemy.
- Sibling Team: The Tsukinowa siblings belong to the same organization, with Cross being the leader of Haze.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: Cross's personality is stated to be cold and ruthless, while Forte's is upbeat and cheery. Though, if you play Cross' campaign or finally have him join in Forte's, you discover that her stories about him aren't entirely accurate and this becomes downplayed, as you discover he's kind of a showoff quipster in his own right.
- Spin Attack: The Lundraches' strongest attack, "Super Ninja Art: Gachirin Shoryu," starts with the machine spinning like a wheel towards the enemy.
- Supporting Protagonist: They play second fiddle to Echika, who is the protagonist of the story.
- Undying Loyalty: They're this to Echika. This is initially because she's the only good thing they had to look forward to in their lives, but this grows to a genuine connection that leads them to putting their lives on the line and using a move that should kill them and come out perfectly fine through sheer will, just to keep her safe.
- Unknown Relative: The Tsukinowas are related to Echika through Dr. Yagami, making them half-siblings. They are acutely aware of this fact, and keep it hidden from their half-sister. They're also not related to Echika by blood as she's a clone of a girl Dr. Yagami found, and they were adopted.
- Worth Living For: How they view Echika, the bright spot at the end of the tunnel of their hellish NINJA training and Dr. Yagami's treatment of them. Goes double for Forte, who wears her feelings more on her sleeve, and ended up as The Un-Favorite.

- Voiced by: Kazumasa Fukagawa
The 21 year-old male protagonist and Forte's older brother. He is the leader of Haze, a NINJA organization, and is referred to as Head whenever the organization is on a mission.
- Affectionate Nickname: Calls Echika "little lady" early on.
- Aloof Big Brother: The persona he tries to put on for both Echika and Forte. Not only does it not stick, it was an attempt to keep himself from straying off his mission to kill Echika once she awoke to the Willforce.
- Always Someone Better: Forte keeps bringing up that Cross was always better than her at being a NINJA. Dr. Yagami also agrees with this sentiment as Forte wasn't up to par compared to her older brother. This extends to gameplay, where a non-protagonist Cross will join the party already able to use Super Ninja Art: Gachirin Shoryu, while a non-protagonist Forte will never learn it.
- Attention Whore: Falls into this from time to time when he's feeling particularly confident, and it's often off-putting. Him being cocky and asking for more praise from Echika in the form of an accidental pick-up line at Saotome Labs in chapter one just leaves her cold and silent, to which he takes the L gracefully.
- Casanova Wannabe: Tends to hit on the ladies, and it rarely goes well, though he can at least recover somewhat, compared to Edge's constant bombing in 30. Completely wiffs with Wren, Aytie, and Cookie in chapter one, but manages to regain his dignity a bit.
- Cracks in the Icy Façade: At the end of the bonus DLC mission The Struggling NINJA, after spending the entire mission asking Gauma to NOT talk about The Power of Friendship towards him, he eventually just says to Echika he, Domon, Tetsuya, and the Dynazenon cast won the day because of it. Cross keeps himself mostly mission focused due to his life as a NINJA, but the support of his Yz-Next allies managed to drop his guard a little and admit he does consider them friends.
- Insistent Terminology: He has to constantly remind Forte to refer to him as "Head" whenever they're on a mission.
- The Leader: He is the current head of the Haze NINJA organization.
- Not So Above It All: Head of a major stealth organization and usually very serious in the field...but he tends to slip into bad quips, or barely holding back his laughter when an ally embarrasses themselves. Cannot help but tease Domon when they meet again in chapter one, much to Domon's surprise, never having seen this side of him before. Seems to be a side effect of being around Echika, the only person who seems to draw him out of his stoic persona.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Domon points out Cross and Heero have a lot in common in how hard they are to read and how distant they can be. This is why Cross doesn't get along with Heero, but he's self-aware to admit that the similarities are definitely there.
- Not So Stoic: How he comes across once recruited in Forte's campaign. After chewing out Forte for her mission performance, he introduces himself to Echika and instantly starts telling the worst dad jokes you've ever heard - in baby talk, no less! Even Forte didn't see it coming. He says he's changing how he acts around Echika as to not scare her, and his campaign suggests that being around her causes his stoic facade to break (just ask Domon, who was completely baffled by Cross reuniting with him after the Revolutionary War and makes fun of him for proclaiming how much he loved his girlfriend to the entire world).
- Secret Test of Character: In Forte's campaign, it's heavily implied that him temporarily turning on Forte for refusing to kill Echika as was her mission is actually an act meant to test how far she's willing to go for her beliefs. He's notably not shocked or surprised at all when Forte wins and refuses to kill him.
- So Unfunny, It's Funny: How Cross' "jokes" are written by the writers and localizers, not in-universe. They're an endless string of groaners and cornball puns, often delivered with some truly undignified expressions. Almost nobody laughs, and for good reason...but you might get a chuckle of the Cringe Comedy it creates.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Does one of these in Forte's campaign after she's down in the dumps after meeting Dr. Yagami again and all of the crap that followed. It's subtle, but he gives her some encouragement disguised in his mission focused persona, even pointing out she beat him, and while she says it was luck, he asks her if she really thinks it was just luck.

- Voiced by: Aya Yamane
The 17 year-old female protagonist and Cross' younger sister.
- Action Girl: She's formidable on foot and her first scene when she shows up to Echika's mansion, is to save her from her kidnappers by slicing them. Continues this the entire way, including willingly sparring with Domon (something most characters run from).
- Ambiguously Bi: She's shown to get flustered at times regarding guys, but also frequently makes flirty comments to girls.
- Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: Her shirt leaves her navel exposed, while Cross's covers his entire stomach.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Forte is an absolute sweetheart and a goofy girl overall. She is also a trained assassin who can become very murderous if someone threatens Echika's safety, as often shown when she deals with would-be assassins when nobody is around. A good way to bring it out is to threaten Echika.
- Big Brother Worship: Talks up Cross a lot, making it a surprise on her campaign when you finally meet him and he ends up being an even bigger dork than her. Heck, even she is surprised, since he only lets himself out when around Echika.
- Big Damn Heroes: In Cross' campaign, she shows up to save Cross from a NOAHS ambush by delivering the Lunedrach Kogetsu.
- Big, Stupid Doodoo-Head: Gives off a storm of these in a childish tantrum after she finds her resolve and tells Cross off for trying to kill her for not wanting to kill her sister.
- Cleavage Window: Not as apparent with Annina or Sistis, but her t-shirt opens up pretty low.
- Cool Big Sis: Becomes one for Echika in her campaign. Notably, she gets almost nothing but praise and admiration from Echika, while Cross occasionally embarrasses himself. Helps she's a secret sibling as well, as she really is her big sis. Granted, not by blood, but she was adopted by Dr. Yagami, who created Echika, which is sort of like a father?
- Die or Fly: Her first major upgrade, the Lunedrache II's Super Ninja Art: Gachirin Shoryu, involves pulling off a NINJA technique that she's never used before but is the only way to safely vent the enormous amount of energy that she absorbed from the berserk A. Advent. In a case of Gameplay and Story Integration, the non-protagonist Forte will thus never learn the move.
- Don't Say Such Stupid Things!: During a conversation with Kallen, Allenby, and Rain during The Celestial Emperor's Path, Forte gets this from Kallen after starting down a shame spiral over her belief that she's a terrible big sister to Echika. Kallen cuts through her self-loathing and points out that it's all in her head, and her actions clearly show that her bond with Echika is more than just one of duty.
- Dude, Where's My Respect?: Shows some frustration at times with how tough Cross is on her, especially when she sees how he acts around Echika. Ironically, she completely overlooks when he is showing genuine encouragement, like when he reminds her of how far she's come and how she managed to beat him during her campaign when she's in a spiral of guilt and self-pity.
- Fun T-Shirt: Her t-shirt has "call it love" written on it, which Kallen mentions after seeing her dedication towards protecting Echika by using Yz-Lunedrache's ultimate attack for the first time without sacrificing herself in the process like she thought she would.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: Does this a lot, especially in comparison to Cross. Becomes clear this is partly a way to hide how much of an insecurity this is for her and keep a strong front.
- The Power of Friendship: Where Cross' version of the mission has him denying the trope until the end, Forte goes all in on it during The Struggling NINJA after Allenby brings it up with Kallen and Rain to encourage her. She goes so far with it that she actually ends up being the one to embarress her friends - especially Allenby. Where Cross tends to hide his emotions, Forte is more open with them, and realizing she has real friends now causes her to practially go hyper with happiness.
- Red Is Heroic: Her Lunedrache II is colored red and she is one of the two protagonists of the game.
- Palette Swap: The only visual difference between her Lunedrache II and Cross's Lunedrache is that her machine is colored red instead of gray.
- That Man Is Dead: When Dr. Yagami calls her by her real name, Yachiyo Yagami, Forte snaps at him.
- True Companions: Where Cross is a bit distant with his Yz-Next friend group, especially since Gauma is a new face for him, Forte is extremely close to Kallen, Allenby, and Rain. They even get her to stop going down a self-pity spiral during The Celestial Emperor's Path by reminding her just how strong her bond with Echika is. Kallen is also one of the few characters who can be critical of her behavior and still come off as friendly (even after calling her a "gremlin").
- The Un-Favourite: Cross was clearly the favorite of the two to Dr. Yagami. He says as much in her story. It's done a number to her self-esteem, and a lot of her development deals with moving past that insecurity.
Mobile City-State A. Advent

- Voiced by: Manaka Iwami
A girl who gets a battleship and a bodyguard as a present when she turns fourteen years old. She becomes the leader of the group thanks to her being the legal owner of A. Advent.
- Artificial Human: She's a clone of a girl possessed by the Willforce, made as a means to study and control it.
- Beware the Nice Ones: On the route where she rejects Izana, she is the first to suggest killing Ade Stradio when outed as a Ra Val mole. She's also not against fighting tyranny for the sake of true peace and freedom, as she makes very clear addressing the people during the Endless Waltz finale.
- Outside of moments like these influenced by the Willforce, it's usually Played for Laughs in ace chats. Sai Saici gets hit with a blackmail threat for insulting Echika for while acting like a perv, only to be horrified and instantly lose all his confidence when she says one name: Cecile.
- Big "NO!": Gives these in big, dramatic moments, usually when Cross/Forte is in mortal danger.
- Break the Cutie: Most of the campaign is a long, extended session of this for Echika. Really hits a boiling point come chapter four, where Messer's death completely breaks her briefly and causes her to be transformed by the Willforce...and only escapes that fate after being even more stressed by seeing the supposed death of her NINJA guardian.
- The Chains of Commanding: A major problem Echika has, especially in the early game, is that she finds herself trying to balance the needs of the world with the needs of her city, especially since she also has to deal with the upkeep of Yz-Next.
- A Child Shall Lead Them: At just fourteen years old, Echika leads Yz-Next as she is the ruler of the city that the group is traveling on. Initially, this is seen as a formality but becomes official at the end of Chapter 2.
- Clone Angst: Doesn't take Dr. Yagami revealing she's a clone of Izana, a girl possessed by the Willforce, well, at least until she gets some emotional support from her allies.
- Combined Energy Attack: After discovering that the Willforce that the A. Advent runs on is the collective malice and desire for carnage of the Animus Clan, Echika severs the A. Advent's connection to the Willforce and replaces it with the Heroic Willpower of the A. Advent's own citizens, which turns out to be just as strong or even stronger. When it needs even more power, drawing on the members of Yz-Next allows it to accomplish even the previously-unheard-of task of erasing Axis from existence.
- Cool Ship: The owner of the A. Advent, a mobile city-state and massive battleship.
- Covert Pervert: A few of her events reveal she has crushes on some of Yz-Next, including Daba. She even gets a unique expression when she's trying and failing to hide when she has an inappropriate thought. This gets taken to its comedic high with Sagiri's ace chat, where Echika has a very obvious crush and tries to get some alone time with her by inviting her ahead of the rest of her team, only for the girls of said team to interrupt to prevent Sagiri from stealing another girl's heart...and then recruit Echika into their fold as protective admirers.
- Defence Mechanism Superpower: Her influence on the emotions of others hits a peak whenever she feels she or someone she loves is about to die, and completely out of her control. You can thank her connection to the Willforce for that.
- Disowned Parent: After defeating the Came Back Wrong Tetsuro Yagami in the Anniversary Expansion Pack, Echika responds to his cries of fatherhood by saying, "I have no father."
- Empathic Weapon: The A. Advent's power output is directly tied to Echika's own mental state. Before recruiting Mina and Novey to fill out the rest of the bridge crew, Echika's nervousness about commanding prevents the ship from having enough power to use all of its standard weapons, and moments of intense emotion can cause its power output to massively spike. A freakout when being attacked by Seivas nearly causes the A. Advent to overload, and by the end of chapter four, Messer dying gives the Willforce a chance to take control and start driving everyone mad while changing Echika's form.
- Family of Choice: The above Disowned Parent moment also sees Echika declare Cross her brother, Forte and Izana her sisters, and the crew of the A. Advent her family.
- Fangirl: One for Cross/Forte, but also quite a few of the heroes. Unsurprisingly, this includes Amuro and Char, whom she's learned of from biographies full of inaccuracies (Amuro agrees to go over some of them with her, while Char is happy to just let people believe his myth when brought up in his ace chat).
- Heroic BSoD: She goes through a lot of these, including flat out going unconscious in chapter four when Cross/Forte have their Disney Death.
- Hime Cut: She doubles down on the regal anime hairstyles, having a Hime Cut's standard bangs and sidelocks, and the long hair in the back being Ojou Ringlets. Quite fitting for the pampered girl who is the heir to a city and inheriting the power to change the world.
- Kiddie Angst: Played for Laughs, unlike her other angsts. She tends to protest when people call her a kid or such, often in a cute, pouty manner. Her obsession with sweets doesn't help.
- Lethal Chef: One of her game closing skits with Cross has him mention his NINJA training allowing him to be able to consume most anything safely, and then Echika asks if he can eat some objects he describes as "mysterious black lumps." Echika then reveals they were cookies she was tring to bake, but they didn't come out as she expected. Thankfully, Cross can, in fact, eat her burnt lump cookies.
- Morally Superior Copy: Played with. Both her and Izana are being affected by the Willforce, but Echika's stronger support network helps her re-direct herself and avoid its influence, while Izana was alone in her experiences and never had a chance, unless the Willforce gets removed from her.
- Ojou Ringlets: She doubles down on the regal anime hairstyles, having a Hime Cut's standard bangs and sidelocks, and the long hair in the back being Ojou Ringlets. Quite fitting for the pampered girl who is the heir to a city and inheriting the power to change the world.
- OOC Is Serious Business: Gains a huge confidence boost at the end of chapter three, and that causes her and a few attentive characters to notice the sudden change and grow worried over what it could mean.
- Post-Stress Overeating: Has a bad habit of stress eating sweets, and it reaches its apex once she meets the most politely pushy man in the multiverse, Caruleum.
- Power Gives You Wings: Not Echika herself, but rather the entire A. Advent projects a set of gigantic energy wings when using its ultimate attack, Dominion Obliterator.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: A very level headed representative for the A. Advent. She quickly earns the trust of the cast through her reasonable decisions and strong will, even if she needs help here and there to keep her composure.
- Supernatural Angst: Along with her Clone Angst, Echika also deals with the realization that she's not human for several chapters and is terrified of the implications, only to get the worst case scenario come the end of chapter five.
- Sweet Tooth: Echika loves sweets to an insane degree. She's even a big fan of Kei's cakes for the ludicrous amount of sugar she puts in them.
- The Reveal: Dr. Yagami reveals that she never had a mother, she's an artificial lifeform that Dr. Yagami created as an Evolver, and she's Subject 31.
- Third Eye: She has a small black mark on her forehead in this position, which takes on a much more ominous form whenever she taps into the Willforce. In this state it's outright referred to as a third eye, and is accompanied with Tainted Veins and Black Eyes of Crazy until she discards the Willforce in favor of drawing power from the A. Advent's citizenry, which leaves just the third eye.
- Tomato in the Mirror: Echika never had a mother, and was instead a clone of a girl possessed by the Willforce, made to explore this twisted power.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: In "The Caudron of Hell", Echika is absolutely terrified of ghosts, which makes both Team Rabbits and the Dyna Team question why she followed them in the first place.

- Voiced by: Rina Sato
Echika's home tutor who was previously a student to her father.
- Blue-and-Orange Morality: Chapter 5 reveals she has a...unique sense of morality, engaging in no small amount of fawning over Echika being Dr. Yagami's greatest creation. However, twisted though her motivations are, she does legitimately care for Echika's well-being as a result, so she gets away with only some reprimanding. For as strange as her worldview is, she makes it clear that what matters to her most is Echika's pure heart and kindness, and revealing that and encourging Echika helps her past her monster blues and get back in the fight.
- Cleavage Window: Present with her dress and framing from some ribbons.
- Control Freak: A side effect of her proper lady upbringing is an obsession with etiquette and structure. It comes out at times, usually when dealing with anyone outside her bubble. The big highlight ends up being a DLC bonus mission in chapter seven, where Echika breaking away from her structured schedule and laxing on her manners a bit causes her to freak out so much that she powers a Full Moon Crash...BY HERSELF.
- Formal Characters Use Keigo: The Japanese script has her speak with in a very polite and formal manner to highlight her refined demeanor.
- Hypocritical Humor: One of her voiced lines has her ask Echika to stay calm...while she herself is nervously stuttering.
- Parental Substitute: For all of her strangeness, Annina genuinely cares for Echika and is effectively her true mother, even if they have no blood relation. It gets cemented at the end of chapter five as she helps her through an emotional crisis with emotional support.
- Proper Lady: Very prim and proper, and taught Echika all of her manners. In the bonus mission pack, she even gets an episode where she tries to teach high society manners to some of Yz-Next's most hotheaded meatheads, to the expected comedic results.
- So Proud of You: She's very proud of Echika, especially when Dr. Yagami notes that Echika is his greatest creation.
- Team Mom: While she would rather be the Cool Big Sis, she's Echika's primary guardian and teacher. Pointing out her age (28, which in an anime practically makes her an Old Maid) causes her some distress. Really gets shown in a bonus pack mission, where she helps the older members of Yz-Next mend the generational divide with the younger pilots, encouraging them to compliment their work instead of be harsh on them, which works perfectly.
- This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman!: Her peculiar sensibilities allow for her to summarily explain the concept of "love" to Nevanlinna in a way that makes sense to the AI and give her new direction in life, whereas virtually everyone else over the course of both V and T felt too overwhelmed to talk about the subject.
- Unstoppable Rage: Annina is so tightly wound that when something finally upsets her, it reaches superhuman levels. Literally. In the Annina's Rage DLC mission, she gets so in a tissy over Echika not going to all her lessons and not always using proper manners due to the influence of the protagonist, Novey, and Mina that she is able to power the Full Moon Crash with her anger completely by herself. She creates an energy surplus at the same level that the entire population of the A. Advent did at the end of chapter six, solely because Echika...went to Karaoke. Needless to say, everyone is on eggshells when she gets up after fainting.
- Yandere: Some of her interactions with Echika go well beyond the professional. The DLC mission Annina's Rage both takes this to the extreme and plays it for laughs, with Mina describing Annina as unexploded munitions.

- Voiced by: Takashi Matsuyama
A 48 year-old former captain of the Earth Federation's 31st Autonomous Corps, he joins the group in search of a job and becomes the captain of the A. Advent.
- The Captain: Serves as this for Echika in battle, since he has experience running a ship in the military, able to handle tactical decisions while Echika handles strategy.
- Coat Cape: He keeps the jacket of his old uniform draped over his shoulders.
- Dark and Troubled Past: It's implied that he lost his crew at one point when the protagonist spots their insignia. His unit was nearly wiped out by Ra Valbelm and when he tried to report this to the EFF, his own report was thrown out and covered up, leading him and Mina to resign from the military. He later reveals that he's been aware all along that it was Ade Stradio who ordered the cover-up.
- Genius Slob: Novey is a brilliant commander and ship captain, but can barely dress himself without Mina's help.
- Humble Hero: Novey is a humble guy who doesn't obsess over his achievements nor look for any sort of glory. This ends up being the exact qualities needed in the late game challenge missions against Dyma Goldwin, as his humbleness and shared age let him finally get through to the egomaniac and realize the error of his ways in his constant blind goal seeking. It even inspires Dyma to go to another world to start over and do some good proper.
- Mercy Kill Arrangement: At the end of chapter four, after Echika freaks out and nearly turns into something inhuman, she makes Novey promise to kill her if she ever loses control like that again and can't be brought back to reality. He agrees, but puts it on the record it's an order he doesn't want to carry out.
- My Greatest Failure: While one would assume he wants revenge for Abe Stradio covering up the existence of Ra Val after Valbelm wiped out his corps, Mina instead sees him as trying to make things right when he previously couldn't, hurt more by his own inability to do anything at the time.
- Nerves of Steel: Downplayed but present. Novey handles high pressure situations well, even when most everyone else reaches their breaking point. This was a major factor he made such a good acting captain for Echika, since his collected persona helps calm her.
- Platonic Life-Partners: He and Mina show no signs of romantic attraction, but they're also inseparable.
- Still Wearing the Old Colors: Despite having left the Federation, he still wears the uniform's jacket.

- Voiced by: Karin Nanao
An 18 year-old former member of the 31st Autonomous Corps, she joins her former captain in the A. Advent.
- Bridge Bunny: She used to be a ship operator under Novey, and becomes one again in the A. Advent.
- Cosplay Otaku Girl: Turns out she's a big fan of cosplay, as a bonus mission reveals the uniform she wears at the shop was custom made. She gushes over all the little details, including the dress frills.
- The Cynic: Mina is usually the one to express the most negative or cynical opinion of the cast, and harbors significant resentment towards Echika for her more idealistic worldview. She's so cynical that it gets reveal in chapter five's finale that her viseral reaction to Echika being changed by the Willforce isn't just rooted in a fear of her power, but a fear that she will inevitably abuse her power, just as those in power betrayed her and Novey. Thankfully, when Echika is in a spiral later over learning she isn't human, this finally gets Mina to be straight with her on her real fears, and further express that if Echika just keeps acting in the kind and good way like she has so far, then there's nothing to worry about. Even if she expresses herself with anger, it helps Echika center herself.
- Freudian Excuse: The reason why she's so snippy at Echika is because of her experience in the 31st Autonomous Corps where her unit got nearly wiped out by Ra Valbelm. When Novey asked for permission to pursue Ra Valbelm's mech, they threw out his report and covered up the entire thing. This convinces Mina that everyone in power is just using the ones in the low positions and takes out her frustrations at Echika.
- Instant Expert: Figures out the control system of the A. Advent immediately.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite her somewhat cold-nature outside of work hours, and her constant belittling of Echika, Mina's heart is in the right place, and she truly does care for civilians as well as the crew of the A. Advent. Her antagonism towards Echika diminishes greatly in the second-half of the game once her disdain towards authority figures is revealed and she herself comes to realize that unlike those in power who turn out to be Dirty Cowards, Echika truly does care for her citizens and works tirelessly to keep them safe. Really pays off come the end of chapter four, where after she freaks out when Echika starts to transform, she manages to bring her back to reality the second go around, and even gets thanked for it.
- Ms. Fanservice: Her design and personality definitely signal her out as the most fanservice focused original character of the game. Along with her normal outfit coming with a type B Zettai Ryouiki, she also gets a skimpy bunny maid outfit on the shop menu and talks like she works at a maid cafe while there. Otherwise, she's a traditional Tsundere. She crosses a lot of boxes through the course of the game.
- Not So Above It All: When Mina takes over running the Shop at the end of Chapter 2 after losing a bet to the protagonist, she insists that the one thing about it she be allowed to set is her costume. Her selection is a maid costume with bunny ears. In a later side mission, she even gushes over how much she likes the outfit.
- Oh, Crap!: The first time she sees Echika get transformed by the Willforce, she does not take it well, exclaiming in terror she isn't human, stuttering, and given a unique terrified expression for her sprite.
- Servile Snarker: She has no issues talking back to her captain, and yet has undying loyalty to him even when he has none for himself.
- Still Wearing the Old Colors: As with Novey, she still wears her Earth Federation uniform despite leaving the military.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Ends up becoming one to Echika as the story goes along, to the point that the "Vitriolic" part gets dropped by the final chapter. She even goes out of her way to try and get her an apology cake for her past bitterness in a bonus mission, and while the cake gets ruined in transport, Echika realizes what it is, eats it anyway, and organizes a one-on-one hang out.

Three of the ninety-nine maids in the service of the Franburnett mansion, they also double as the leaders of the maintenance, information, and general support division respectively.
- Anger Born of Worry: In one DLC mission, Wren is furious at the seven worst pilots - Koji, Takuma, Hayate, Hyoma, Izuru, Asagi and Suruga - because of their piloting style wrecks their machines poorly; Gauma and Akira would have joined in, but their machines auto repair. After an attempt to be more "elegant" makes things worse, Wren reveals that she was upset because she was scared that their machines wouldn't be beaten up but the pilots themselves as well.
- Barely Changed Dub Name: The English version made slight modifications to their names from the Japanese version:
- Wren was originally "Ren-ren."
- Cookie was originally "Cookin," as seen on her dress.
- Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: Cookie is the most traditionally feminine and falls into beauty, Aytie is the tech and information expert and acts as the brains, and Wren is a mechanic who dresses for the job and acts as the brawn, and most likely to share a piece of her mind with Yz-Next. Shows especially well in the DLC mission pack, where she instigates a farce by blowing up at the seven most self-destructive pilots for wrecking up their robots so much, while Cookie needs to be brough to tears to play a similar role in another mission.
- Be Yourself: Wren gets An Aesop episode in the bonus DLC mission pack, where she tries to force the seven most self destructive pilots in Yz-Next learn to be more elegant to stop wrecking up their robots she constantly has to fix. Laughs ensue due to this including the likes of meathead Takuma and the constantly nervous Asagi. In the end, she's just glad to see the seven come home safe after a mission, coming to understand that it's best they be who they are to stay safe and keep others safe.
- Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Cookie is the blonde, Aytie covers the brunette role with her grayish hair, and Wren is the fiery redhead.
- Color-Coded Characters: All three of them are assigned different colors to their uniforms and their hair to help differentiate them from each other:
- Wren: Red
- Aytie: Blue
- Cookie: Yellow
- Combat, Magic, Trickery Trio: Wren is combat, giving the "Crush" spirit ability to lower enemy armor and mobility. Aytie is trickery, having the "Trick" skill to let the caller get a free attack that ignores cost. Cookie falls into magic with "Press," a support spirit that lets the caller get a turn refresh after they shoot down an enemy.
- Custom Uniform: Cookie's maid uniform has bigger sleeves than those worn by her co-workers while Wren wears a jumpsuit, boots and gloves.
- I Never Told You My Name: They're shocked that the protagonist can name them and know what positions they hold without the three introducing themselves.
- The Leader: Wren is stated in her character profile to be the de-facto leader of all ninety-nine maids.
- Meido: They serve as maids for the Franburett mansion.
- Ninja Maid: Echika grew up thinking they're mere maids, but turns out they're trained military personnel and in fact handle standard security duties in the city.
- Non-Uniform Uniform: Wren keeps the top part of her maid uniform unbuttoned.
- Prone to Tears: Cookie comes with unique crying art, and it's not hard to get her to cry, especially if you're meanly critical of her cooking.
- Regenerating Health: Wren's passive ability restores health to the A. Advent every turn.
- Secret Test of Character: Aytie does this in her support chat, and Played for Laughs. She suddenly throws out the idea of manipulating information she's in charge of to affect the thoughts of A. Advent's populace, which Echika turns down, leading to Aytie revealing she was just testing her. Her delivery of the suggestion, however, was suspiciously straight faced.
- Sinister Surveillance: Played for Laughs with Aytie at times, especially in the bonus mission where she gets some of Yz-Next to look into the Kaiju users by reminding them of how vast her information network actually is, using Trouble Entendre without even having to specify "Blackmail" Is Such an Ugly Word to get the message across.
- Support Party Member: They are the first three Assist Characters that players get in the game.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Cookie ends up the catalyst to a mission focused on this in the bonus DLC mission pack, being upset by Sai Sachi's harsh criticism of her fried rice and leading to a trial of errors of those most critical of her cooking being a completely out of sync group who end up in a firefight because of them buying ingredients together to show her how it's done. The manage to learn teamwork, but only on the battlefield. They ended up being a Lethal Chef group together, their fried rice only fit for the perpetually hungry Gauma and either Cross or Forte, who have trained to eat even the most vile food.
Pan-Stellar Empire Ra Val
A galactic power behind the terrorist organization VAL-X, who pride themselves on their "survival strategy genes" that give them enormous combat capabilities. In battle they pilot machines that utilize the Prophoton Effect Drive.
- Alternate Universe: In their timeline, Char took command of Neo Zeon, declared war on Earth and won. This resulted in humanity undergoing a very bloody revolution that spiraled into humanity becoming a Galactic Conqueror and nearly managing to wipe out Ra Val.
- Ambiguous Situation: Just how alien they actually are is questioned by the Wulgaru, an actual intergalactic power who claim to have never heard of a Pan-Stellar Empire. This is because they're actually from 2,500 years in the future.
- Became Their Own Antithesis: They're on the path to this, and some of them are aware of it. Valbelm's goal to guide humanity's evolution and have them serve him to become a galactic power is basically them taking the reigns of the strength of the Getter Emperor, the monster that caused all of their problems in the first place. Negsis' coup is done to stop this.
- Cool Mask: The Celestial Warriors all wear fancy helmet masks that cover their eyes.
- Human Aliens: They're human aliens, like the Wulgaru. They're also from the future.
- Humans Are Bastards: They come from a future with the Getter Emperor, so they have a justified low opinions of humans and act as such. Goes double for Re Negsis. Can be overcome with proper shows of strength and honor, though, as a few of them become more respectful to the A. Advent and even start seeing them as a Worthy Opponent.
- Humanity Is Infectious: As the story goes on, Seivas does an Anti-Mutiny and starts having the time of his life on the A. Advent, while Sistis and Valbelm gain genuine respect for Echika and Yz-Next, especially on the route where Valbelm serves as Final Boss.
- Legion of Doom: Ra Val becomes the center of "NOAHS," an alliance between most of the humanoid enemy factions in the game, with their combined military forces fighting under the name "NOAH Brand."
- A Lighter Shade of Black: Compared to The Animus Clan. They may be galactic conquerors, but you at leasy have a chance at some sort of safety or comfort living under them, not to mention Valbelm wants to turn humanity into his warriors, unlike Negsis. With the alternative, you're pretty much the toy of spiteful ghosts.
- Light Is Not Good: All of the Ra Val machines utilize the Prophoton Effect, which produces brilliant gold light, and most of their machines have names themed after light. The lower-level pilots are named Celestial Warriors, while the higher-ranked ones gain the title of Celestial Knight.
- My Beloved Minions: Due to their cultural focus on survival, they're quite close knit and care deeply for each other, including commanders to their charges. Sistis shows it most, even willing to put herself in harms way to protect those in her command, and Valbelm even shows this at times. A notable moment is when he sternly but calmly gets Sistis to take a vacation after the last NOAH Brand challenge, specifically for her own health.
- Proud Warrior Race Guy: Played With. They fit the trope to a tee for the most part, especially with how quick to battle many of them are and their focus on conquest and Might Makes Right social structure, but they're also survivalists and have a tight knit community within their empire. They show a lot of care for each other and make it a point to put survival above victory, even having a mottot to remind them that you haven't lost as long as you still live. They had to form a culture like this just to survive a future where they have to deal with the freaking Getter Emperor.
- Psycho Rangers: NOAH Brand serves as a direct counterpart to Yz-Next. A collection of villain rivals from as many storylines as possible who all have direct connections to pilots from Yz-Next and who serve as repeating Mini-Boss fights throughout the game after Chapter 2 - sometimes as Boss Rush participants as well.
- Rank Scales with Asskicking: Naturally for a warrior race, they reward power with political authority. The only acceptable way to become the next Emperor is to kill the previous one.
- The Reveal: The reason why most of the aliens in the story have never heard of Ra Val is because they come from the future, 2,500 years later. They also didn't mean to go to Earth as they accidentally got sucked into a dimension vortex 5 years before the start of the game.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In the route where Ra Val is the Final Boss, they mostly abandon him, sick of the endless wars, leaving only a small few to pilot in the first phase of his fight before he takes the field with unmanned units.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Fitting for a game that includes an entry in the Macross franchise, which commonly deals with culture clash and making friends in the stars, the Ra Val start getting portrayed in a more sympathetic light around chapter five and on as we learn more about them, especially in the route where Echika tries to talk to Izana. Many of the heroes even express sympathy or outright affection for some of the empire, especially Sistis.
- Unwitting Pawn: Every action that Ra Val took was all because of the Evolvers. However, which one of them ends up being the pawn of the other in the end is determined by the choice between the A and B route in Chapter 5.
- Villainous Valour: They got it in spades, especially Sistis. They have it so bad that they have a motto to try and curb this so they actually survive as a species, a reminder that you have not lost as long as you still live and breathe. It pops up a few times among them to get them to step down or put their pride aside for their own well being.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: They are fighting for their survival as humanity became a Galactic Conqueror, as per the events of Getter Robo Āḥ. They just happen to copy the Andromeda Stellaration's strategy to change the past.

- Voiced by: Ryōta Suzuki
A freedom-loving 23 year-old Celestial Knight chasing after the A. Advent.
- Affably Evil: His friendly personality seems to be genuine, even when he's acting in his duty as a Celestial Knight. Even in his earliest appearances, even before his name is given, it's pretty clear he's not going to keep the evil part for long.
- Anti-Mutiny: How he justifies turning against his emperor, Ra Valbelm, when he joins Yz Next. Said emperor is surprisingly understanding.
- Beneath Notice: Seivas spends most of the Getter Robo Āḥ Wham Episode walking on eggshells, as he's not certain what will irritate Getter Emperor into deciding that his presence or assistance in helping Yz-Next learn the future constitutes a threat to its closed timeline and wiping him from existence. When it doesn't do anything, he ultimately decides he must simply be too small for Emperor to care about.
- Blood Knight: He does enjoy a good fight. Fitting that he resonates most with a fellow blood knight in Yazan Gable when he talks to him about how fighting is just fun.
- Casanova Wannabe: Forte certainly seems to think so, but it's up in the air how much of that is him trying to flirt or just his carefree personality.
- Evil Virtues: He starts off being loyal to his king, and troubled by his recent obsessions. As chapter four goes on, he dives more into his Blood Knight tendencies and starts to show appreciation for those with drive, ambition, and a lust for life and freedom. This results in him growing fond of various other NOAHS villains, right before he abandons his post, no longer having the desire to fight his king's insane war.
- Friendly Enemy: He actually hangs out on the A. Advent a lot, solely for his own enjoyment. It comes as a shock he's a bar regular like Mujina, another friendly enemy. He also expresses a lot of attachment to the A. Advent in his private thoughts.
- Heel–Face Turn: Growing disillusioned with the stagnant Ra Val culture and how it's leading them towards their destruction by throwing themselves against humanity, Seivas departs on his own at the end of Chapter 4, and occasionally assists Yz-Next in the face of a greater threat such as the Devil Gundam, before eventually committing himself to joining them in order to stop Ra Valbelm's mad ambitions and save him from himself.
- I Did What I Had to Do: He clearly doesn't want to destroy the A. Advent, but feels he has to due to knowing its role in the bad future he comes from. Some of his dialog in chapter three really makes it clear it's a grim duty he's carrying out. If you do the NOAHS mission in chapter four, he'll even try to give an out to Echika, wanting to avoid this duty by offering a third option.
- Ramming Always Works: His Stella Velos has a unique finisher, Prophoton Phoenix, where he rams the opponent at high speed.
- Sword Beam: The Stella Velos's Flash Slugger has its swing its its arm-blades to shoot energy shockwaves. It can charge them up further to unleash its Full Blazer, which uses both arms.
- The Rival: Acts as this for Cross/Forte, especially the latter as a genuine threat for her to test her skills on and grow.
- Villainous Friendship: Has a small one with Yazan Gable, of all people, born from Yazan explaining his philosophy of fighting just for himself and seeing that sort of Blood Knight potential in Seivas. He's surprised those words resonated with him so much, and seeing this dialog contexualizes some of his later actions. Seems he also grew foundness for several members of NOAHS by the end of chapter four, having different affectionate musings every time you take one down during the fight, respecting their desires or showing concern for more confused or hurting characters.
- Worthy Opponent: Sees Cross/Forte as this, depending on who you select as your protagonist. They're the first person to really push him to his limits, based on some of his inner dialog.

- Voiced by: Mutsumi Tamura
A stern and disciplined 23 year-old Celestial Knight who replaces Seivas as the head of NOAH Brand.
- Cleavage Window: Downplayed via some sort of bodysuit under her outfit, but there is indeed framing around her visible cleavage.
- Defrosting Ice Queen: Downplayed but present. She forms a strong bond with Nei in particular, over their shared struggles with ambitious men.
- Evil Virtues: Cares deeply about loyalty and living by a strict code, which puts her at comedic odds with the band of battle hungry thugs and dirty cowards she gets stuck with. On the flip side, her Ra Val charges all deeply respect her.
- A Father to His Men: She's a tough boss, but fair, and absolutely devoted to those under her. She even takes a barrage from the A. Advent to save a Windmarean Knight in her first NOAH challenge mission. Said mission also shows that she's gained the loyalty of her people by showing genuine value for their lives, ordering them to live, and even willing to bow to make that care clear.
- Heroic Sacrifice: A villainous example. She loses her mech in her first NOAH challenge mission in order to protect a Windmarean Knight who was about to be blasted down by A. Advent in a botched suicide attack.
- Ignored Enamored Underling: Sistis is quite clearly in love with Ra Valbelm, something that just about everyone who speaks with her on the subject of him can tell. How Valbelm feels in return is never made clear, but he thinks highly enough of her to crown her as his successor on both routes.
- Kill the Ones You Love: In the B route, Valbelm forces her to kill him to become Ra Val's new emperor.
- Klingon Promotion: She is forced to kill Valbelm in the B route and becomes the new empress of Ra Val in the process. She's not happy about this.
- Noble Demon: She can be mean, but she has a clear code she follows to the letter, and expects those under her to as well, especially in service to her Emperor. It's where her frustration really stirs up, due to her non-Ra Val allies being a wide variety of scumbags (outside the more honor focused Windmareans and Nei Mo Han).
- Pose of Supplication: Makes it very clear in her first NOAH challenge mission how much she cares for her team by humbling bowing and ordering them to come back alive. It's a stark contrast from her normal, sour attitude, but her code dictates she protect her people and repay debts (like giving a letter to her Emperor from Echika after she gives her medical attention).
- Surrounded by Idiots: The final NOAH Brand mission dedicates some time for Sistis internally monologuing about the overall shortsightedness, greed, and pettiness of her allies.
- Sword Beam: Like Seivas's Stella Velos, the Stella Blus can use the Flash Slugger and Full Blazer.
- Tornado Move: Her Stella Blus has the Prophoton Tornado finisher, where she spins at high speed to create an energy tornado.
- Villainous Underdog: Surprisingly, Sistis ends up being treated as this after a few fights, it becoming clear she's quite likable to the rest of the heroes, and her code of honor and how she carries herself preventing her from doing anything as mean as what Seivas could do. She also ends up on the backfoot a lot more, like getting patched up by Echika and her people after a battle with them, or being caught on recon in the A. Advent while getting treated to lunch by the Kaiju Club. Subverted in the route where Echika rejects Izana as she ends up having to take Valbelm's place.
- You Are in Command Now: In both endings, Valbelm's final act before his death is to declare her the new Celestial Emperor of Ra Val.

- Voiced by: Yusaku Yara
The current Celestial Emperor, and de facto leader of NOAHS.
- Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: In Chapter 6, when Ru Negsis and Ade Stradio reveal their treachery, Valbelm executes them both in Yz-Next's place.
- The Chains of Commanding: It becomes clear after awhile that Valbelm feels a great deal of weight on his shoulders, especially in the route where Echika tries to speak with Izana. Novey points it out as something he actually pities him over, in how he states his title so much as if he needs ti remind himself of his duty. It becomes a major point of tension with Seivas as well, informing his later actions to save Valbelm from himself.
- Detrimental Determination: Ends up in this in the route where he serves as Final Boss, alienating his people with needless war few of them want, for an insane goal that doesn't seem as necessary as it once did.
- Don't You Dare Pity Me!: He is not in the mood to be reminded his people are victims of the Getter Emperor in his Final Boss fight, choosing instead to make himself out as a tyrant for his own plans.
- Dramatic Irony: He's critical of Cross/Forte during The Celestial Emperor's Path, stating that they're held back by their duty as Echika's guardian to really make use of their abilities. It has already been pointed out more than a few times that he is the one clearly held back by the obligations of his title of Celestial Emperor, unable to take another path due to his sense of obligation and duty, and there's some extra dialog in the mission if you fight him with the protagonist pointing to this.
- Enemy Mine: In the A route, he tries teams up with Yz-Next to help rescue Izana after she's kidnapped and made into Dark Gundam's core, but they turn him down and do it themselves.
- Played straighter in the Anniversary Pack, where the sudden arrival of the Googolplex causes him to immediately declare a truce with Yz-Next and Earth as a whole due to how the Googolplex are a massively bigger threat.
- Evil Virtues: Despite his desire for conquest and war, he is a major proponent of Determination and Strength in individuals. He despises cowards who won't fight for their own principles, be they his enemies or friends, and one of the fastest ways of gaining his respect is being willing to put yourself on the line.
- Eyepatch of Power: In the A route, he gains a cybernetic eyepatch over his left eye, dubbed the Will Device, which grants him absolute control over the Willforce even against the wishes of the very spirits that form it.
- Final Boss: He serves as the last opponent fought on the A route while piloting the Gigantic Endenos.
- Go-Karting with Bowser: During The Celestial Emperor's Path, he comes to the A. Advent to spend time at a local bar Seivas is a regular at and ends up having a polite conversation with Lelouch and Char about leadership and their repspective cultures.
- Go Out with a Smile: In the A ending, when Echika makes it clear she has no intention of leading humanity to become conquerors like they were in Ra Val's original timeline, Valbelm gives a final, satisfied smile as he acknowledges her freedom before his mech explodes.
- Graceful Loser: Upon defeat in the A ending, he accepts his loss with dignity, acknowledging Yz-Next's strength and using the last of his strength to free Izana from the Animus Clan's influence.
- I've Come Too Far: Admits as such in the A ending as otherwise he feels he would be besmirching his fallen comrades.
- Klingon Promotion: Like all Celestial Emperors, Valbeim got his throne by slaying his predecessor. He forces Sistis to do this in the B route.
- Meta Mecha: As the Final Boss of the A route, he has the Animus Clan ruins construct an enormous mobile weapon for his Endenos to ride, the appropriately-named Gigantic Endenos, which is described as a version of the A. Advent built entirely for war.
- Noble Demon: Acts with honor and a sense of comradeship with his people, even sending Izana to the A. Advent in the A route, and attempting to help the group when it turns out she was kidnapped. He even bows before Echika and Yz-Next to ask permission to kill Ade and Negsis in their place.
- Pose of Supplication: Does one of these when politely requesting Yz-Next to let him kill Ade and Negsis for their betrayal. at least in the route where Echika tries to talk with Izana.
- Smarter Than You Look: While Valbelm appears at first to be a brute-force conqueror, and he is, his actions throughout the A route consist in large part of him outwitting everyone who thought that this made him Dumb Muscle.
- Suicide by Cop: In the B route, he forces Sistis to kill him as he doesn't want to be killed by Earthlings after his plan to cause Axis to crash into Earth failed.
- Taking You with Me: In the A route, he draws all of the Willforce to himself both so that he can use it and, if he fails, so that the entire Animus Clan will go with him, ending their manipulations of the universe once and for all.
- Then Let Me Be Evil: In the route where he serves as Final Boss, partway through the battle, he tosses away his need to be the Celestial Emperor to embrace his own desire for conquest, choosing to be a villain to empower himself and cement his will.
- Villainous Breakdown: In the B route, in sharp contrast to his reaction to defeat in the A ending, he flies into a rage upon Axis Shock being foiled and himself being defeated and blames Sistis and her men for his defeat, attacking them in a furious rage. Subverted as he wants to be killed by Sistis, just so he can still preserve Ra Val customs.
- He has a very different breakdown in the A ending where, when he is reduced to 50% hp, he realizes that he could have turned from his path a long time ago and in response sheds is affably evil persona in favor of going full The Unfettered conqueror, even shedding his title as The Emperor.
- Villainous Friendship: Valbelm and Drake Luft quickly take a liking to one another and forge a close bond. They get along so well in fact that Drake's flagship serves as the carrier for Valbelm's own personal unit. Even after Drake betrays him, they still think of each other as friends and Drake wishes Valbelm well after he is defeated by Yz-Next.
- Villainous Parental Instinct: Izana effectively becomes a surrogate daughter to him in the route where Echika tries to speak with her. He even goes as far to free her from the Willforce.
- Villain Respect: In The Celestial Emperor's Path, he has a polite conversation with Lelouch and Char, treating them as equals, and then tells Echika she has the makings of a true ruler. He also extends a compliment to Cross/Forte's abilities, though with some criticism (see Dramatic Irony).
- Weapon-Based Characterization: The Endenos that Valbeim pilots is equipped with a titanic energy axe, the Celestial Wrath Qeraunos, denoting his conqueror mindset and valuing strength.
- We Have Reserves: His gimmick in the final battle of the A route is an endlessly spawning army of Stellas, which will overwhelm the heroes if he's allowed to get more than 35 of them on the field at once.
- World's Strongest Man: Being the Celestial Emperor has this as a requirement, and Valbelm more than lives up to the title. Outside his machine, the fighters in Yz-Next determine that he's capable of defeating all of them by himself.
- Xanatos Gambit: In the route where he serves as Final Boss, he succeeds in his goals, alive or dead. If he beats Yz-Next, he can shape the future as he planned, and if he loses, then he knows Yz-Next is strong enough to change the future and can take the Willforce with him, making sure it can't ruin their attempts to avert the Getter Emperor's future.

Valbeim's personal aide, the Celestial Sage, and the spearhead of efforts to undermine Earth politically.
- The Coup: Attempts to have Ra Valbelm usurped from his position as Emperor when Valbelm wants nothing more than to conquer Earth, and having Drake replace him. He fails.
- Didn't See That Coming: He didn't realize that his own plans to help out his empire were already taken into account by the Evolvers.
- Face Death with Dignity: After his coup fails, he wishes for Valbelm's success before he gets executed for betraying his emperor.
- Faux Affably Evil: Negsis puts on airs of being diplomatic, but oozes condescension that makes him unpopular even among Ra Valians.
- The Heavy: Until Ra Val makes its formal debut at the end of Chapter 3, Negsis does all of the heavy lifting in their early efforts to undermine Earth's governments and form a Legion of Doom.
- I Did What I Had to Do: When he launches his coup, he tries to give Valbelm one last chance to change course, and it's made clear he's not happy to betray his king and friend.
- Join or Die: Delivers this ultimatium to the A. Advent and Yz-Next after his coup in chapter six, giving humanity the choice of subervance and a controlled existence, or complete eradication.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: In Forte's campaign, he graciously surrenders when Cross takes him hostage to get Forte out of a NOAHS base.
- Non-Action Guy: Unlike the other Ra Valians, Negsis avoids taking the battlefield personally, instead manipulating other villains to do his bidding. He even attempts to take over the A. Advent by competing in the election for its representative, planning to slash Yz-Next's funding to render them toothless.
- Obstructive Bureaucrat: Attempts to be one of these in the A. Advent election, wanting to downsize Yz-Next and park the city with another nation because of budget problems. Thankfully this doesn’t happen.
Other Characters

The first and final president of the New Earth Federation, and the head of the New League of Nations, who serves as the A. Advent's intermediary with the rest of the world's governments.
- The Creon: While he served as the New Earth Federation's president for a few months, Ade seems much more comfortable as the chief of staff for the NLN, a position with much less authority. After all, he's been working for Ra Val to undermine humanity since the very start.
- I Did What I Had to Do: His motivations for his betrayal stem from knowing the truth of the Getter Emperor. He wasn't trying to gain power, nor was he a true believer in invader ideals, he was realistically crushed under the weight of a horrific truth and tried to go with a course of action that could both avert this possibility and prevent humanity from being wiped out. A cowardly play, but understandable, and arguably better than something a member of Yz-Next tried to do just one mission back. It's definitely a better alternative than Kamui trying to wipe out humanity outright.
- Dirty Coward: When Ra Valbelm catches up to him and Negsis after Drake has been dealt with, he pleas for his life to be spared while Negsis tells Ade to quit it as pointing a blade at the emperor of Ra Val and failing to usurp him is punishable by death. That's not even getting into his entire reason for being a traitor being that he was terrified by the Getter Emperor's future and chose the most cowardly choice to deal with it, something everyone, even Echika, call him out on.
- Mission Control: Most of the places that the A. Advent goes are at Ade's recommendation, as he helps set up their deals for energy. Echika surmises that he's also responsible for their being a Fight Magnet.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Bears a resemblance to former USA president Ronald Reagan.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: He's the primary member of the world governments that the A. Advent deals with, and a reasonable and helpful individual all around. But since he's actually a Ra Val collaborator, this is all a farce to get them into constant fights with NOAHS. As soon as Yz-Next figures this out, they repay him in earnest, then ditching his corpse without any comment when Valbelm does that himself.

- Voiced by: Volcano Ota
Echika's father and the one responsible for the creation of the A. Advent.
- Abusive Parents: What little we know of his "parenting" of Forte and Cross paints a grim picture. Forte describes herself as spare parts in his eyes. He certainly treated her as such at the end of chapter five.
- Asshole Victim: Dr. Yagami is cruel, self-centered, and disliked by everyone who knows him except Annina, and even she isn't particularly broken up about it when his actions lead to his demise.
- Back for the Dead: The same mission where Echika learns he's alive also has him die for real. However, he's such an Asshole Victim that nobody is upset about it.
- Came Back Wrong: After his corpse is revived by Googolplex in the Anniversary Expansion in an attempt for them to learn more about the concept of fatherhood and merged with a Void Beast, he's reduced to incoherently screaming about Echika and how she belongs to him, leaving the Yz-Next little choice but to put him out of his misery for good.
- Captain Ersatz: A doctor who turns out to be a horrible father? He's an older Dr. Felio Radcliffe, and somehow even worse.
- Control Freak: The one time he appears physically, it's very clear he sees anything that goes against his control as worthless. This becomes especially apparent in the Forte route as he flat out refuses to accept her as a NINJA and spends a good chunk of his time trying to get her to cede the duty of guarding Echika to Cross. Notably the second everything spirals uncontrollably out of his hands, he freaks out and can only loudly and fruitlessly bark orders to Izana as she destroys his lab.
- Evil Is Not a Toy: After discovering the original Evolver, Izana, he stuck her comatose body in a test tube and cloned her thirty-one times in an effort to learn the secrets of the Willforce. Izana eventually wakes up, swiftly leading to Dr. Yagami's death.
- Faking the Dead: He's revealed to be alive during the events of Chapter 4, and met in person in Chapter 5 where he reveals that he faked his death to continue his research on the Evolvers.
- For Science!: His entire life is all about pursuing the Evolvers, and he created thirty-one artificial children to try and recreate their ability to harness the Willforce, of which only one was successful.
- Four Eyes, Zero Soul: He wears glasses and doesn't care for anything except his research. He also abuses his children, and only thinks that Echika is his greatest creation.
- The Heavy: For the entire original plot, and his actions also change a lot of the adapted plots as well, or are apart of the new lore for them. About the only thing unrelated to his Willforce studies is the Getter Emperor - except he made its fleet even more horrifying.
- It's All About Me: His egotism drives everything he does, leading to his entire plan falling apart because he didn't anticipate Echika wouldn't reject him and that Cross/Forte would simply betray him, simply because he assumed everyone would act how he wanted.
- Locked Out of the Loop: His actions set the original plot into motion, but he dies completely oblivious to the truth of the Ra Val Empire. When Ra Valbelm uses the term "Evolvers" in reference to the Animus Clan, a term he came up with and never shared to anyone besides three people just a few minutes ago, the best he can come up with is the guy is a psychic based on some flimsy logic connections.
- Posthumous Character: Subverted: he allegedly died in an accident 3 years prior to the start of the game, although the chosen Tsukinowa protagonist knows better, as he's the one who hired them. Once you finally meet him in person, though, he ends up being Back for the Dead.
- Villainous Breakdown: Ra Valbelm talking like he knew all about his secret research breaks him into a panic, and things only get worse once he wakes up Izana. Much, ''much'' worse.
- Walking Spoiler: Tetsuro's survival is only revealed about halfway through the game, and the mission where he actually appears reveals vast swathes of the overarching plot.

- Voiced by: Mariya Ise
The original Superhuman who manifested the ability to conjure the Willforce, which overwhelmed her at the age of two. She was then imprisoned for fourteen years and repeatedly cloned by Tetsuro Yagami, before breaking free and going on a rampage. She joins with Ra Val in both routes, being freed of the Willforce by Ra Valbelm in the A route and needing to be rescued after being kidnapped, while her possessed form becomes the main villain of the B route.
- The Corruptor: In the B route, she manipulates Sistis to do her bidding at every turn, ending with Sistis killing Valbelm and her despair allowing the Evolvers to possess her.
- Damsel in Distress: In the route where Ra Val serves as Final Boss, he'll try to have her taken to the A. Advent for her own safety after freeing her of the Willforce. Unfortunately, Sistis leaves her before she can be picked up, hinted because she doesn't want to face Seivas or possibly Echika and the protagonist NINJA, and that gives Urube a chance to capture her, resulting in her becoming the core of the Dark Gundam. Getting her out proves difficult, since she's a scared, confused girl who's been used by pretty much every faction she's come across, so it takes the combined efforts of Seivas and Domon to free her.
- Dark Is Evil: In contrast to the Light Is Not Good aesthetics of Ra Val, the Animus Clan employ openly monstrous designs for their weapons that utilize a variety of darkness-based color schemes. This includes their version of the Stella, the Stella Kokuen, which trades the gold light of the normal type for a blood-red variation and has its attack names changed to match.
- Demonic Possession: Izana alternates between a demure and innocent personality and a cruel, sadistic one, with the latter being the one that can use the Willforce and indicates itself to be a separate entity possessing her body. It's later revealed in Chapter 6 that this personality is the collective spirits of the entire Animus Clan that form the Willforce.
- Evil Is Not a Toy: She's the subject of both sides of this trope depending on the route. In the B route, the Willforce proves the evil that nobody else should be treating like a toy, while in the A route, it treats the Ra Valians like a toy and pays the price when it's brainwashed into compliance and ultimately destroyed.
- Family of Choice: Happily joins Echika's found family with Forte and Cross in the ending.
- Final Boss: She, or rather the spirits of the Animus Clan possessing her, serve as the last opponent fought on the B route while piloting the Izana no Orochi.
- Morality Pet: She becomes this to Valbelm in the A route, the ruthless conqueror adopting an almost father-like relationship with her and ensuring she's treated well. In fact, the very first thing he does after building the Will Device is to free her from the Aminus Clan's control, and when she's later kidnapped, he doesn't hesitate to team up with Yz-Next to save her.
- Out-Gambitted: On the A route, she attempts to manipulate Ra Val as her new chosen to spread war across the galaxy. However, Negsis and Valbelm were one step ahead of her and created a device which allows Valbelm to completely dominate the Willforce, something he uses to drive the Animus Clan from Izana's mind.
- Psycho Prototype: Of Echika, although Izana was born naturally while Echika is a clone of her.
- Sweet Tooth: When she's in control, she proves to share this with Echika. She lights up in the route where Echika tries talking to her when the NINJA protagonist tries to ease her worries by taking her to get some sweets while Ra Val speaks with Echika at the bar.
- Teens Are Monsters: Subverted; Izana herself is just a little girl struggling in a world she doesn't know, but the Evolvers are all too happy to possess her and use her power to do horrible things such as wiping out an entire country's military forces simply to show off that they can.
- Tragic Monster: She lost her parents at a very young age when robbers killed them in a burglary, then fell catatonic for several millennia only to be discovered by Dr. Yagami and used to create clones of herself in order to control the Willforce. When she finally awoke, the Evolvers jumped at the chance to possess her and use her power to commit atrocities, and regardless whichever route the player chooses, Izana continues to suffer at the hands of those who want to take advantage of her power, be it the Ra Val or the Evolvers.
- Total Party Kill: During the final battle of the B route, if at any point in the battle she hasn't been attacked at least three times in a turn, she automatically unleashes her ultimate attack and instantly wipes out your entire squad.
- Villain Takes an Interest: The Animus Clan through her often draw their eyes towards those showing the potential for great conflict and violence. Valbelm is actively trying to get their interest for his own plans.
- Walking Spoiler: The very fact that Izana exists is the big twist of Chapter 5, and how Echika reacts to her existence determines the rest of the story going forward.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Izana is a Superhuman capable of using the power of the Willforce to do unspeakable things such as wiping out entire armies in an instant, but she only awakened to that power at the age of 2 when she witnessed robbers murder her parents. The trauma had left her catatonic for over 12,000 years, and when she reawakens, the Evolvers waste no time possessing her mind to abuse her power.

Also Known as the Evolvers, the Animus clan are the third, hidden precursor race of Humanity. As their race met its demise, they enacted a ritual to transform their vengeful spirits into what's now known as the Willforce. Everyone aware of them has little nice to say about them. They also created Animus Beast Midollo.
- Big Bad: These guys are the very reason every terrible thing is happening in the story. Nevermind the terrors they inflicted when they were still alive, but their legacy continued to influence present day in the ruins and artefacts they left to be discovered, and then there's the fact their very spirits are filled with so much rage and bloodlust that it becomes a potent energy source that covers the world and corrupts humanity into fighting senseless wars.
- The Corrupter: As revealed in Chapter 5; despite being long dead by the events of the game, the Evolvers continue to exist as vengeful ghosts so powerful that they turn people into aggressive animals who fight just for the sake of fighting. Numerous characters, both heroes and villains, lampshade how odd certain characters are so hellbent on fighting without knowing why that they suspect another force is at work.
- Corrupted Character Copy: Of the Sixth Civilization. They are both Precursors who shed their bodies long ago and actively steer the world towards conflict through a source of seemingly limitless energy (the Willforce and the Ide, respectively), but the Animus Clan doesn't have the Ide's Humanity on Trial excuse for their manipulations. Furthermore, their goal of turning humanity into a race of Galactic Conquerors is wildly different from that of the Ide.
- Disc-One Final Boss: In spite of being one of the two possibilities for Y's final boss, the Animus Clan and the Izana no Orochi are fought barely a third of the way into the Anniversary scenario, well before any other major leader faction is.
- The Dreaded: So fearsome and horrible is their reputation, that the Wulgaru consider giving up their harvest of humanity in favor of outright extermination because of it.
- Emotion Control: One of their main abilities is stoking hatred and an urge to fight in others. Gets shown a lot whenever Echika loses a grip on her emotions, and is commented on by several characters with psychic abilities or magical affinity.
- Evilutionary Biologist: Their hat. In Getter Emperor's future, their influence wins out and humanity succeeds them as universal conquerors who care nothing for other races or even for each other, only the endless pursuit of more power.
- Evil Versus Evil: The wars of 12,000 years ago were largely a brawl between the Animus Clan, the Campbellians, the Yoma Empire, the Mycenae, and the people of Mu, with the people of Mu as the only good faction among these. Eventually all of them were wiped out by Godzilla, which caused so much dimensional damage with its rampage that it also destroyed itself.
- A God Am I: Boy howdy. Whenever they speak through Izana, there's a great deal of smug confidence and condescension, trying to get the various factions to fight for their favor and power.
- Greater-Scope Villain: The entire plot doesn't exist without them having existed. They even have connections with other ancient villains, and their evolution focus ends up tying them to the other Greater Scope Villain, the Getter Rays, which were mostly undetected until Dr. Saotome started researching them. Heck, they even brought the Ra Val empire to the past, something that even Valbelm didn't know.
- Hated by All: Nobody who was personally familiar with the Animus Clan 12,000 years ago has anything positive to say about them, and in the modern day their ghosts are considered just as irredeemably evil as the Mycenae or Yoma Empire, if not even worse.
- Hijacking Cthulhu: If you send Getter Noir G into battle with it, it is indicated that the way the Getter Emperor was being used in the game's Bad Future was not entirely willing on its part, and something it does not appreciate.
- Posthumous Character: A twisted example; the Animus Clan are well and truly dead, but their power is so immense that their very spirits continue to haunt Earth to this day. Through the power of the Willforce that makes up their very being, they corrupt everyone around them, and possess Izana to act as their avatar.
- The Power of Hate: The Willforce is quite literally this trope, being a limitless energy source generated by the Animus Clan's bottomless lust for blood and destruction. In life, they used it to power superweapons like Animus Beast Midollo, and in death they wield it through their genetic descendant Izana, who they collectively possess through it.

The culmination of the Infernal Alliance's collaboration between the Yoma and Mycenae Empires, a hulking Eldritch Abomination made up of the fallen souls of both groups possessing an Animus Clan superweapon.
- And I Must Scream: Its speaking lines seem to suggest it is in constant agony from only being able to think about hating everything and killing.
- Crossover Power Acquisition: Downplayed. Midollo is an original creation, a demonic creature created and used by the Animus clan, but it is also the result of the villains of both Raideen the Brave and Mazinkaiser vs. The Great General of Darkness combining their spite, hatred, and the souls of their dead to override the monster's will and controll it themselves. The entire reason it reforms is because of them giving it a new physical form through a dark ritual combining them together.
- Gravity Master: Its breath weapon compresses whatever it hits into a tiny ball before detonating the resulting mass.
- Original Generation: A return to original enemy designs based on a featured series, last seen with the Anti-Gurren Lagann in Super Robot Wars Z2.
- Puzzle Boss: In both ending routes, it will pop up at the end of the Raideen the Brave story arc, acting as a revival mechanism for either Barao or the Dark Gundam, and vice versa. Both have to be destroyed in the same turn or else the one killed will be revived.
- Red Herring: Its main story role is to make Yz-Next believe it is the Catastrophe of Godzilla: Singular Point. The truth is much, much worse.
- The Worf Effect: The first time Yz-Next fights it, they note how powerful it is. When it engages Godzilla Ultima, it gets OHKO'd immediately.
- Bio-Mecha: Downplayed, as it's a mechanical mecha that is controlled by a microscopic Kaiju, which the Kaiju Eugenicists control using their Instance Domination ability to indirectly control the machine.
- Calling Your Attacks: Relive has various gags about this, typically at Onija's expense:
- When using the Penetrator Gun, Onija yells out "Whatever Beam."
- When using the Burst Missile Attack, Sizumu will offer anyone the opportunity to shout the name, which Mujina will reject before Onija enthusiastically does it.
- Dynazenon Relive Full Blast, the equivalent to Dynazenon Full Burst, plays with this; sometimes the four Club members will call out the name, other times Onija will clearly want them to, only to loudly complain when the other three stay completely silent.
- Chaosbringer Daybreak will always have the entire team play it straight.
- Evil Knockoff: Even more so than Gagula's second form, as it is effectively a copy of the robot itself piloted by the Kaiju Club. At the same time, it's subverted due to being their playable unit as heroes. Most of its attack names are similarly knockoffs of Dynazenon's, and the Kaiju Club even have their own version of the team's battle cry, "Battle Scramble!". With Dynazenon being a phony kaiju, Onija declares Relive to be a phony phony kaiju, which to him means it's a real kaiju.
- Heel–Face Turn: Relive appearing at all means the Kaiju Club has made one, as they still employ Gagula as their final boss form before reappearing with Relive.
- Laser Blade: Like the original's Dyna Saber, Relive's Dyna Sabre is a Blade Below the Shoulder variant, generating red beam swords attached to its hands.
- Leg Cannon: Burst Missile Attack is identical to the original Dynazenon's Burst Missile Kick, firing missiles from its leg at point blank range.
- Palette Swap:
- Relive is a white with purple highlights version of the red and black Dynazenon, but is otherwise identical other than having a unique final attack which attaches new armor plating. note
- The Dyna Sabre weapon is colored red instead of green like Dyna Saber.
- Purple Is Impure: It's an Evil Knockoff of Dynazenon, and is colored purple.
- Psycho Prototype: Relive is described as Dynazenon's prototype, being controlled by a microscopic kaiju which is in turn being controlled by the Kaiju Club.
- Secret Character: Despite being featured in promotional material, Gauma needs to get 150 kills and land the final blow on Gagula in its respective stage for Relive to actually show up.
- Shoulder Cannon: Like the original, Relive's Penetrator Gun fires lasers from the cannons positioned on its shoulders.
- Shout-Out: It's Dyna Sabre attack is called the "Big Blade Impulse", in contrast to the original Dynazaon's being called "Big Blade Strike". Fittingly, both Shinn and Kira are in this game.
- Super Mode: Instead of being able to transform into a Dyna Rex form, Relive can gain an additional chestplate and headgear based on Gagula's second form, which it uses to perform Gagula's Chaosbringer Daybreak.
- Unexplained Recovery: How exactly the Kaiju Club survived their death at Dynazenon's hands or acquired Relive isn't elaborated on, beyond that someone rescued them and gave it to them. If you're familiar with the source material and where the original Dynazenon came from, you can probably guess as to who that someone was.
- Wave-Motion Gun: Relive's strongest attack, Chaosbringer Daybreak, fires a large green beam at the target, identical to the one used by Gagula.

DLC Characters:

A mysterious girl who is seeking an old family friend of hers. Her search brings the Narumi Detective Agency, the Cosmo Rangers J9 and Roger Smith to the A. Advent.
- Being Evil Sucks: At the end of her story, Roger points this out to her, that all of her sins havn't filled the void that makes her so miserable, and continuing down that path will just make it worse. This finally gets through to her and she decides to atone for her crimes.
- Bullying a Dragon: She's picking a fight with a major villain while knowing absolutely nothing of his true capabilities, and it goes just as poorly as you'd expect.
- Didn't Think This Through: She tried to kill Alfcourt with his own golems. It doesn't work, unsurprisingly.
- Evil Is Not a Toy: Learns the hard way at the hands of a literal embodiment of evil.
- Foil: The real Leah Crye is eventually revealed to be Dead All Along, murdered by one of her maids who was desparate for money, power, and a sense of identity and seized an opportunity to assume Leah's identity after dealing with her. Her desire to do the same with Alfcourt Campaul stems from wanting to take his power for himself. In short, she's what any of Echika's maids could have turned into had they wanted her status and power for themselves.
- High-Class Gloves: Wears some fancy gloves to go along with her fancy dress. Most likely "borrowed" from her original employer.
- Internal Homage: Seems to be one of Akane Shinjo, who's story was adapted in the previous game in the series, Super Robot Wars 30. She has a very similar relationship with Alfcourt Campaul once they meet that Akane has to Alexis Kerib, her negative emotions turning her into a toy and weapon. However, there's a stark difference in that Akane didn't have the "void" inside her, Alexis did, and Leah is closer to falling down his path. Roger and Shotaro end up play Gridman and Anti's roles in talking her down and towards a better path.
- I've Come Too Far: Says there's too much blood on her hands as it is to stop her ways. It takes becoming Alfcourt's living fridge to finally let Roger and Shotaro to get through to her that this isn't the case.
- Mask of Sanity: Comes right off right when she thinks she killed Alfcourt Campaul in glorious fashion. She only gets more deranged when she finds out shortly that he was faking and then kidnaps her.
- Mysterious Waif: A young woman with a mysterious past searching for someone from her past? Can't be more mysterious or waif-y than that! Though, considering the noir trappings of the story, she's more a Femme Fatale, especially considering her goals and past.
- Redemption Earns Life: Chooses to turn herself in and start atoning for killing the real Leah Crye and her actions during the DLC after being talked to by Roger and Shotaro.
- The Reveal: When you get to chapter five, you can discover that Leah Crye has been dead for awhile, and this Leah is a maid named Jonna Benmonarch who pulled a Kill and Replace after the real Leah's parents were killed by Alfcourt Campaul, and her real goal was to do the same to Alfcourt in order to take his place as the Preacher of Evil.
- Villainous Breakdown: She does not take Alfcourt surviving her assassination attempt well, her expressions becoming deranged and spewing hatred and obcsenities the entire way.
- Walking Spoiler: Leah comes off as a Flat Character for most of her story, until The Reveal kicks in, and, well. Just look at all the spoilers.
- You Killed My Father: The ultimate motivation for her pursuit of the "gentleman in a silk hat". Then subverted in the fact she's not the real Leah Crye and is only pursuing Alfcourt in the hopes of assuming his identity as the "Preacher of Evil".

- Voiced by: Toru Nakane
The even more mysterious man that Roger Smith was initially hired to search off of, with only a vague description to go off of. He sticks to the shadows for much of the story, a clear villain of some sort connected to the mass distrubition of golems, raising questions as to why Leah Crye is looking for a scoundrel like him at all...
- Admiring the Abomination: Does this to Leah, the irony of him being an even more inhuman abomination making it all the worse.
- Bad Powers, Bad People: Putting it mildly. This man is as villain-coded as it can possibly get, and he loves it. He especially likes the taste of the evil emotions of others.
- Card-Carrying Villain: He's known as Alfcourt Campaul, the Preacher of Evil and he definitely acts the part. Manipulative, spiteful, petty, and very murderous.
- Composite Character: He shares traits of various villains from the DLC's selected shows. He shares Yukiji Bando's obsession with evil and having an inhuman form Made of Evil, Alan Gabriel's Card-Carrying Villain in a stylish suit style and complete lack of humanity, and Kahmen Kahmen's criminal mastermind with a retro look gimmick, going with steampunk instead of ancient Egypt. And, of course, he also takes from Ende's emotion eating, and even uses golems from his game, if controlled by his own strange evil magic.
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: To the villain of X, Ende. They both have Emotion Eater powers and thrive off of the darker feelings of others, and Alfcourt even uses Ende's golems and controls them with his own evil focused magic, but they go about things in completely different ways. Ende was an Eldrich Abomination and basically a god of his own world, a Fisher King who's presence affected it, only choosing to abandon it to try the flavors of the people of other worlds. He was an egotistical monster above mortals, and looked the part as a Hybrid Monster. The Gentleman in a Silk Hat, on the other hand, is a Dimensional Traveler who arrives to new worlds and actively manipulates others to get his meal, instead of relying on minions. He's simply piggy backing off of a greater crisis for his own kicks. He's also hiding his true form in the guise of a mortal man, talking to people on their level and even acting in a very human manner, gloating and indulging in his evil schemes.
- The Corrupter: His whole thing is manipulating others by playing on their hatred, fear, impulses, and despair, winding them up, and then giving them an army of golems to go wild with.
- Dimensional Traveler: He's a monster from another dimension who came here to dine on evil emotions..
- Emotion Eater: Turns out he literally feeds on the evil of others, and it empowers him. Leah is a treat because her evil is completely homegrown, no tempting from him to make her so rotten. This is also why he attacks the A. Advent so much, due to the Willforce stirring up feelings of rage and hate.
- Evil Cannot Stand Cuteness: Manipulates a man into attacking a Walkure concert during a later J9 focused mission, mainly because he hates "bringers of false hope."
- Evil Feels Good: He clearly loves his work, and he corrupts others by invoking this and possibly using his magic to remove their inhibitions.
- Gratuitous Foreign Language: His mech has an Italian name and its attacks have Swedish names.
- Hope Crusher: Part of why he targeted Walkure, and during his boss fight, if you survive a gauntlet with low morale and SP and manage to build back your momentum, he just spews the evil smog out once more to reset the deubffs and gloats at your powerlessness.
- Made of Evil: He's actually a smokey monster that seems to be made entirely of evil, and feeds off evil emotions to gain power.
- Manipulative Bastard: His usual tactic in most all circumstances. While plenty will agree to his help for petty reasons and grudges, he'll also prey upon traumatized individuals to get them to do evil, as he does with a grieving woman.
- The Reveal: The Gentleman in the Silk Hat named Alfcourt Campaul is actually an Eldrich Abomination from another dimension who feeds on the evil of humans, having come to this dimension to continue this process, and ended up being attracted to the A. Advent due to the influence of the Willforce.
- Status Infliction Attack: Once he finally takes the field, he spews pure, concentrated evil from his mech, causing a massive hit to everyone's morale and SP. It's even a wide range map attack that hits in a huge zone around him for the final phase of his battle.
- Steampunk: His mech, the Dulco Vesta, is a steampunk machine powered by steam made of pure evil.
- Villainous Breakdown: When Leah decides to atone for her crimes, Alfcourt loses his main power source and all of Yz-Next get a massive morale and SP boost, causing him to lose it.
- Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Tries to pull this off when beat, only for J9 to catch him at the last moment.

A cat always seen with the Gentleman in the Silk Hat.
- Right-Hand Cat: He helps Alfcourt find targets.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: After Alfcourt is defeated, there is no sign of what happened to Gulliver, who is implied to be intelligent and just as evil as his owner. May be a Sequel Hook, as the other DLC and first expansion also include hanging threads like this.

- Voiced by: Ryota Takeuchi
A mysterious Brave with a dark color scheme awakened by the turmoil created by the war going on, seeking purpose in his life like the three heroes bonded by such a desire.
- The Atoner: After his defeat, he decides it is best to not immediately get a new body so he can both properly atone, as well as better learn how to be a hero.
- Attention Whore: The (main) reason behind his Face–Heel Turn. It's also why he was kicked from his home dimension.
- Awesome, but Impractical: The EX Spreader resembles the radial MAP attack of many a Final Boss, but has blind spots in every other tile except for the cardinal directions in its seven-tile radius. If you pause before engaging Exis, it's possible to completely surround him without allowing the Spreader to fire.
- Black-and-White Insanity: (One of) the reasons behind his Face–Heel Turn.
- Composite Character: Just as Alfcourt shares a similar MO to Ende, Exis borrows from the remaining two villains of the VTX trilogy. Like Dyma, Exis is obsessed with fashioning himself to be a hero when he fully intends to define what can be considered "justice". Upon being defeated, Exis confesses that his banishment from his home universe stemmed from wanting to be the center of attention and being loved, similar to Nevanlinna obsessing over understanding it. Unlike Alfcourt, Exis has enough self-awareness and ability to realize his mistakes to eventually try to better himself.
- Even more fittingly, he takes aspects from all of Team EX, being someone who is inspired by their sense of purpose and justice. He has a similar color scheme to Getter Noir G and also comes from another universe, uses some goofy Go Nagai style robot attacks like Hiroshi (particularly a rocket punch as his first seen attack), and is a sentient robot driven by a purpose like Da-Garn. This is in contrast to The Man in a Silk Hat, who instead took after villains. All this fits him even better as an example of what happens when you become absorbed in your purpose as a bringer of justice.
- Dark Is Not Evil: He has a color scheme that screams bad guy, but is on the hero's side, ,at least at first, and then goes back to this trope after his defeat, albeit without his body.
- Face–Heel Turn: His flawed sense of justice and Attention Whore tendencies lead him to turn against Yz Next. He returns to the good guy's side in the ending, albeit without his body.
- Heroic Sacrifice: When finally defeated by Yz Next, he saves them by sending them home from collapsing extradimensional arena he brought them to. His consciousness is then saved by Echika in the ending, but he refuses to have his body rebuilt or his survival revealed out of shame.
- Interface Spoiler: Averted. When he first appears on the map as a unit, you are unable to see the mech encyclopedia page on him.
- Meaningful Name: His name is given by Echika, the first two letters coming from Team EX, the team that inspired Exis into awakening and trying to be a hero of justice. It could be read as "EX is," the sort of word play on the level of the hero army of "Yz-Next," pronounced as "Wise-Next." Ends up being some Dramatic Irony later when Exis' pride and Black-and-White Insanity kicks in and has him pull a Face–Heel Turn.
- Red and Black and Evil All Over: He has the color scheme, but isn't evil, at least initially.

- Voiced by: Tomohisa Hashizume
A strange Fighting Clown with dimensional powers encountered after Team Meteors is sent to the Y universe. In truth, he is another Ultimate Superhuman that awakened from an A. Advent civilian. Using the power of forbidden knowledge that may or may not have come from somewhere else 120 million years ago in Caruleum Vaull's timeframe, he brought Team Meteors and their dimension-warping conflicts to his homeworld in the insane hopes of rewriting reality to force himself onto Annina.
- Ambiguous Situation:
- Usurper's ramblings mentioning the Dark Wisdom and the Yz-Clown's attack names strongly imply he is either another coming of The Edel Bernal, or an Edel (given that the name encompasses every individual who has the same source of power). In the same breath, he also calls himself a "cursed wanderer," a title Asakim Douan used to describe himself and the Sphere Reactors. He dies before any of this can be properly investigated, though it should be noted that he lacks the original Edel's distinct brand of insanity in favor of Love Makes You Crazy.
- In the Anniversary Expansion, it is noted that Usurper's powers very strongly resemble one of the 12 Spheres after the Swaying Scales land in the Y universe. However, he was never shown operating with a drawback (or suppressing one, given the strength of Ultimate Superhumans), and his clown theming does not align with the Western Zodiac, making it unknown if he was an actual Sphere Reactor.
- Art Shift: Yz-Clown's strongest attack traps its enemy into a pocket dimension inside a TV where they're assaulted by multiple cartoony clones of itself in a Big Ball of Violence before the real thing leaps down with its scythe to cut them in half.
- Canon Character All Along: In a sense. While Usurper is a native human of the Y universe and part of its original cast, he reveals at the last minute that his true source of power is the Dark Wisdom, meaning another valid title for him is The Edel.
- Composite Character: Like the other central DLC characters, Usurper takes from the villains of the presented series in an even more obvious way than the others: He's a delusional, self-obsessed creep who makes his own cynicism and obsession everyone else's problem. The Buff Clan and Chihaya fit best for self-destructive obsession, the latter sharing a twisted sense of "love," but he bares most resemblance to Dewey Novak, Head, and especially Embryo. He has Dewey's deep cynicism and nihilistic views, Head's selfishness and style, and Embryo's incredible power and misogyny. He also shares all three's world ruining ambitions and manipulative skills, and the latter two's deeply troubling lust and petty cruelty. That's not even getting into how he might be getting his power from the same source as Edel Bernal from the Z universe, and shares some of that same sadistic insanity.
- Connected All Along: Initially introduced as being confined to the pre-existing lore of the Y universe, Usurper ends up slipping that his real strength comes from what is most likely the ruins of the Z universe and is therefore another Edel, either the original Edel Bernal or one of the many that followed his path.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Usurper is only really interested in Annina and the A. Advent since he believes he is the rightful heir to its controls as a natural Ultimate Superhuman, but attempts to bring about far more destruction than Izana and the Evolvers to accomplish this.
- Early-Bird Cameo: The new unnamed A.Advent citizen present in cutscenes associated with the expansion who's dressed in a yellow hoodie and who has a vacant amused expression on his face most of the time? That's him.
- Even Evil Has Standards / Mistaken for Pedophile: Usurper is initially assumed to be trying to marry Echika, which he is clearly disappointed to find out and chastises Yz-Next for believing he would actually be in love with a child.
- Evil Counterpart: His mech, Yz-Clown, is one to the Yz-Lunedraches: its design originates from Tetsuro Yagami's blueprints and its strongest attack has it manifesting a weapon from its core in the same way as both Yz-Lunedraches.
- He also serves as this, foil and Shadow Archetype to Echika. in multiple ways:
- They are both superhumans awakened by the A Advent and fight against each other for its control.
- They both lead coalitions of people and mechs from various universes/franchises, though, while Yz Next is an elite army composed of various Ace Pilots, Usurper's are mostly automated drones.
- They both care for Annina. However, for Echika, she is her caretaker whom she has a genuine connection to, while Usurper is merely Loving a Shadow.
- Echika regularly goes out and meets the public in person, even if the crowd is unhappy, while Usurper hides his identity.
- Finally, while Echika seeks to help her citizenry and bring out the best in them, while Usurper constantly attempts to demoralize them, and in the leadup to the final level, attempts tempt them to his side by offering their deepest desires.
- It is pointed out in universe that he is this to Lelouch as Zero as they both hide in the shadows and have a flare for the dramatic.
- He also serves as this, foil and Shadow Archetype to Echika. in multiple ways:
- Expy: The Yz-Clown shares attack names with the Chaos Lemures, the Final Boss of Z1, and is a reversal of the dynamic between the straightforwardly-designed Lemures and the Large Ham Edel Bernal. Usurper later reveals this may be relevant in-universe, as he draws from the same font of knowledge as The Edel.
- From Nobody to Nightmare: According to Annina's intel, before he awakened as an Ultimate Superhuman, he used to be a plumber.
- Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: Usurper's strength comes from the introduction of the Z universe's dimension-warping cosmology to another game's universe that was never intended to face it head on. While the Quaestors and Aos did hold the power of Sidereal, Chrono, and the Heralds' robots, they were just that — robots, with the only surviving original owner of the latter two entirely washing his hands of the matter out of guilt. Meanwhile, Usurper all but states that not only does he have the powers of The Edel Bernal himself, he was only ever taking orders from a third party, who led him to that power in the first place.
- Sinister Scythe: Yz-Clown's preferred weapon of choice that initially appears as a bouquet of flowers when it manifests it as described above.
- Tom the Dark Lord: His civilian identity is just that, a plain-sounding Japanese name (Kanoto Shijo) that he naturally takes heavy offense to being called by.
A mysterious backer for a number of villain factions who seems to have no obvious motive for their actions, but their mere presense causes every living thing to experience primordial fear. In reality, they're a manifestation of "void" that came into being thousands of years into the future and aren't really a person or an entity as much as they are a concept, which essentially makes them completely immortal and the reason they travelled back in time is because they wish to learn about various concepts about humanity, but they've picked the worst examples possible to learn from.
- Evil Versus Oblivion: Since they're essentially the concept of nothingness made manifest, all the villain factions that they lend aid to are innately wary of them and several of them don't wish to have anything to do with them, with the Ra Val immediately signing a ceasefire with the A.Advent when they make their presense known by sinking it in a single attack with no warning.
- Humanoid Abomination: The form they take is the one belonging to a future Head of Haze, who is one of Forte's children in the far future, but if necessary, they can copy themselves infinitely and if enough damage is dealt to their physical form, their face distorts into a bright teal spiral.
- Horrifying the Horror: When they first manage to make their presence known, they scare the crap out of Godzilla, who in this incarnation a universe destroying Eldritch Abomination. Later on it is revealed that it has decided to delay its arrival, and likewise the Getter Emperor has halted its arrival. The Animus clan/Evolver's immediate reaction to them is to panic and attempt an alliance with the heroes (which is rejected). The only beings who aren't completely terrified of it are the Andromeda Stellaration, who are giddy about using its power to destroy humanity, and Emperor Barao, who considers himself to be a simillar omnicidal immortal being.
- Make Way for the New Villains: Their arrival causes prior villains to completely freak out in terror.
- Me's a Crowd: In addition to being able to multiply themselves infinitely, the melee attack of Void God Ragmadok and the ranged attack of the Void Beasts they spawn both involve having massive sperm-like creatures burst forth from within the target, and the former also involves a group of newly fertilized cells growing a huge maw and swallowing the target whole, giving them a theme centered around rapid reproduction.
- Villainous Breakdown: Despite its incredible power, the Walkure being able to convince Godzilla to protect them briefly, Hayate, Freyja and Mirage's love confessions and just the overall Heroic Willpower Yz-Next displays absolutely befuddles them, causing them to break down.
