Set up a hardware security key for two-step authentication
Before you start
Stripe supports most hardware security keys. It’s compatible with any security key that implements FIDO U2F or FIDO2 standards.
Use a
modern browser
that supports WebAuthn.
Set up hardware security key two-step authentication
Open the
Personal details page
on the Stripe Dashboard.
Under the
Two-step authentication
section, click
Add authentication method
.
Select
Add security key
.
When your browser prompts you, plug in and tap your security key. The prompt display may look different depending on your browser.
Enter a name for your security key. This helps distinguish it from other security keys if you add more.
Write down the
backup code
shown and store it in a safe place.
At your next sign-in, you can use your hardware security key for two-step authentication.
