CONCATENATE

The CONCATENATE function joins (concatenates) values or the contents of referenced cells.

CONCATENATE is replaced by CONCAT, which also concatenates the contents of one or more cell ranges. CONCATENATE is still available for compatibility purposes.

CONCATENATE(string, string…)

string: Any value.

string…: Optionally include one or more additional values or cell references.

Notes

Examples

If cell A1 contains Lorem and cell B1 contains Ipsum, =CONCATENATE(B1, ", ", A1) returns "Ipsum, Lorem".

=CONCATENATE(60, 60) returns "6060".

=CONCATENATE("a", "b", "c") returns "abc".

="a"&"b"&"c" also returns "abc", because & is the concatenation operator.
