Spot erase software instrument recordings in Logic Pro

You can use spot erase to remove any unwanted notes from a recorded performance.

Spot erase existing notes in a region

  1. In Logic Pro, click the Spot Erase button in the toolbar (or use the corresponding key command).

Spot Erase is turned on, indicated by a floating window with a red flashing icon.

  2. In playback or recording mode, hold down on your music keyboard or the onscreen Musical Typing keyboard the note that you want to delete.

Each instance of that note is deleted in regions on the selected track as the playhead passes over them.

  3. To turn off Spot Erase, do any of the following:

    • Close the Spot Erase floating window.

    • Click the Spot Erase button in the toolbar (or use the corresponding key command).
