Volume mode in Logic Pro for iPad

Using Volume mode in Beat Breaker, you can set the Volume, Slope, and Curve values of a slice.

  • Tap the Volume button to select Volume mode.

Figure. Volume mode in Beat Breaker.

Volume mode parameters

  • Volume: Adjust the volume of the selected slice.

  • Slope: Adjust the rate at which the volume changes over time for the selected slice.

  • Curve: Adjust the curve of the volume ramp over time for the selected slice.

Tip: To create a natural fade-out at the end of a loop, apply Volume mode to the last slice, set Volume to full, and drag Slope down to the right. The audio level drops off smoothly as the pattern reaches its end point.

Set the Volume parameter

  • Drag the slice up to increase the volume or down to decrease it.

Set the Slope parameter

  • Drag the slice to the left or right to change the Slope value.

Set the Curve parameter

  • Place two fingers on the slice, then turn your hand in the direction you want to rotate the curve. After you start the rotation, you can continue by dragging with a single finger.

Tip: When a slice is selected, you can also drag the Curve parameter to adjust the value. This is useful if the slice is too narrow to use a gesture.
