Choose Session Player presets in Logic Pro for Mac

After you choose a Session Player type and style, you can choose from a collection of presets in the Session Player Editor. Presets offer a quick way to browse predefined, region-based Session Player settings, such as patterns, fills, and swing settings. You can use the default settings, or you can edit them and save your own presets. User presets can be deleted, but included presets cannot.

Whenever you choose a different preset or edit settings for the current one, you can play back the selected region to hear the changes. You can also create subtle variation of the performance without changing the settings in the Session Player Editor.

Choose a different preset

  • In the Logic Pro Session Player Editor menu bar, click the Preset pop-up menu and choose a preset.

The region settings on the right side of the editor update to reflect the chosen preset, and the selected Session Player region in the Tracks area is regenerated.

Preview the current preset for the selected region

  • In the Logic Pro Session Player Editor, click the Play button in the ruler at the top of the editor.

When the selected Session Player region is playing, the cycle area is set to the region and the region is set to solo.
