Work with PDF files in Motion

After you import a PDF file into your Motion project, you can choose a background color for areas of transparency in the PDF or choose what page to display in a multipage PDF.

Change the background color of a PDF

Areas of transparency in a PDF file are also transparent in Motion. You can substitute a custom background color for transparent portions of the PDF.

  1. In the Project pane in Motion, click Media, then select a PDF object.

  2. Open the Media Inspector, select the Use Background Color checkbox, then select a new color using the Background Color controls.

Choose a different PDF page

When you import a multipage PDF into Motion, the first page in the PDF is added to your project. However, you can choose to use a different page.

  1. In the Layers list or canvas in Motion, select a multipage PDF.

  2. In the Properties Inspector, drag the Page Number slider, or enter a page number in a value field.

Note: Form objects, buttons, and JavaScript objects that are present in an imported PDF file do not appear in Motion.
