View weather maps on iPad

You can use the Weather app to view maps that display temperature, precipitation, and air quality conditions in your location or other areas.

A precipitation map of the surrounding area fills the screen. In the top-right corner from top to bottom are the Current Location, Favorite Locations, Overlay and Toggle Full Screen Map buttons. In the top-left corner is the Done button.

View an enlarged weather map

Open Weather.
Tap the weather map to enlarge it.
When the map is enlarged, it stays pinned to the top of the screen in portrait view and to the side of the screen in landscape view.

Change the map display

While viewing an enlarged map, do any of the following to adjust the display:
- Change the map display to temperature, precipitation, or air quality: Tap .
- Enlarge the map: Tap .
  While the map is enlarged, you can tap , then select a location to jump to a different location in your weather list.
- Move the map: Touch the screen and drag your finger.
- Zoom in and out: Pinch the screen.
  While viewing the precipitation map, tap to change the view between Next-Hour Forecast and 12-Hour Forecast (not available in all countries or regions).
- Return to your current location: Tap .
- Add a location to your weather list, view its current conditions, or view it in Maps: Touch and hold the location.
Tap Done to return to weather conditions and forecast.
