Change VoiceOver Visuals settings (Panels and Menus tab) in VoiceOver Utility on Mac

Use the Panels and Menus tab of the Visuals category in VoiceOver Utility to customize the size and appearance of the caption and braille panels and menus in VoiceOver, such as the Commands menu.

To open VoiceOver Utility, press Command-F5 to turn VoiceOver on, then press VO-Fn-F8.

To navigate the different tabs in Visuals, press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key after you hear “Visuals” until you hear the setting you want to edit—like Panels and Menus.

Description

Show caption panel

Display the caption panel, which can be helpful when working with sighted users.

Show Braille Panel

Choose how you want to display the braille panel: Off, On, or Automatic.

When set to the default setting, Automatic, the braille panel is shown when you connect a refreshable braille display to your Mac.

The panel simulates a refreshable braille display and includes a language translation of the braille.

Font Size for Panels and Menus

Set the font size for the caption and braille panels, and for menus in VoiceOver, by dragging the slider toward Small or Large.
