Control the volume of a Logic Pro for Mac project
You can change the overall playback volume of a project using the fader on the master channel strip or the Master Volume slider in the control bar. However, in a stereo project, you should keep the value at 0 dB, and make any volume adjustments with the fader on the output channel strip or the corresponding volume slider on the Output track.
The master channel strip functions as a VCA fader for all output channel strips. Changing its volume fader in a stereo project only offsets the level on the Stereo Output channel strip. It should be left at 0 dB unless you need additional volume automation for the output signal. The master channel strip adds functionality when using multiple output channel strips to apply an equal level offset or when working in a surround or spatial audio project.
Generally speaking, you should adjust the output volume to a level high enough to eliminate background noise, but not high enough to cause clipping. You can check for clipping by watching the clipping indicators in the master level meter.

Adjust the overall project volume
In Logic Pro, do one of the following:
In the Mixer, drag the volume fader on the output channel strip.
In the Tracks area, drag the volume slider on the header of the Output track.
