View reminders as lists or columns on Mac

On your Mac, you can view a reminder list as a long list or with columns for the sections in the list.

On the left, a reminder list viewed as a list is shown; on the right, the same reminder list viewed as columns is shown. The reminder list has three sections; the section titles are used for the column headings.

Note: All Reminders features described in this guide are available when you use updated iCloud reminders. Some features aren’t available if you are using accounts from other providers.

Open Reminders for me

  1. Go to the Reminders app on your Mac.

  2. Select a list in the sidebar.

If you don’t see the sidebar, choose View > Show Sidebar.

Note: You can’t choose column view for the standard Smart Lists or for viewing a group of reminder lists.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • View as a list: Choose View > as List.

    • View as columns: Choose View > as Columns.

When you view a list as columns, note the following:

  • If the list doesn’t have any sections, all reminders are listed in a single column with the heading “Others.”

  • If the list contains reminders that are not within a section, they are listed in a column with the heading “Others.”
