I’ve been able to successfully use the python-kasa tool to send on/off commands to a Tapo smart plug with several Mac computers (using different operating systems connected to my network via wifi.)
However, when I connect those computers using Ethernet on the same network, the Tapo device is no longer discoverable.
I should in theory be able to send commands to a IOT device on WIFI on the same network using Ethernet right? Is this something I’m getting wrong or a limitation of Tapo devices? Or is it a bug with Mac OS?
This is the last piece of the puzzle in a project I’ve been working on for a bit so woukd love to figure it out if possible. Can do more testing or provide more info if helpful.
