I noticed that in the TLDR pages, there's a main page for helix and an alias page for hx. However, all Helix releases distribute the binary as hx, not helix.

I did read that on some Linux distributions, the command might be installed as helix instead of hx — but that's not how the official Helix releases are distributed. This makes me wonder:

  • Why is helix the primary TLDR page and not hx?
  • Is there a reason to keep both pages, or could hx be the main page (with helix as the alias, or even removed)?
  • Is there a historical or technical reason for this structure, or is it just for discoverability?

I just had a look at this, and on Arch Linux the only command is helix. I guess that's why the main page is helix.

There was also a short discussion about this during the creation of the hx alias page: #8242
