Background

My main GitHub account was suddenly suspended without a clear reason. After that, I used a secondary account to submit a support ticket regarding the suspension.

However, when I logged into the secondary account today, I found that it had also been unexpectedly suspended.

What Happened

This secondary account had only been used for about one day. I only used it to:

  1. Move two repositories that were actively being developed from my main account.
  2. Continue normal development work.
  3. Use the same GitHub CLI workflow.
  4. Run CI workflows for the repositories.
  5. Use AI-assisted coding / vibe coding tools as part of my normal workflow.

Because my main account had already been suspended, I was much more cautious this time and controlled the speed and frequency of my operations.

Even so, the secondary account was suspended the next day for reasons I still do not understand.

Related Issue

Yesterday, I also posted in the GitHub Community about my main account suspension, including the fact that my GitHub account is connected to some important third-party services.

At that time, I did not expect the issue to become worse, with my secondary account also being suspended.

My Questions

  1. How can I check my existing support tickets?

Since my GitHub account is suspended, I do not know where I can view the support tickets I previously submitted.

Are those tickets still valid and still being processed?

  1. How can I track ticket status?

It seems that I can submit a new support ticket, but I cannot properly view or track existing tickets while the account is suspended.

What is the correct way to track suspension-related support tickets?

  1. What is the right way to follow up?

Because I cannot access the ticket system normally, I had to create another account again just to ask for help.

Is this the correct approach, or is there a better official method for following up with GitHub Support?

Request

I would appreciate any guidance from GitHub staff or community members who have experienced a similar situation.

Thank you.

You should stop making new accounts. GitHub's automated abuse filters flag that as ban evasion. Because you used the same CLI, likely the same IP, and moved the exact same repos, the system instantly linked your new account to the suspended one and auto-banned it too.

About your tickets:

  • Tracking: You cannot view them on the GitHub support portal while suspended. You have to handle everything via email.
  • Validity: Your tickets are still valid and in the queue. The support ticketing system (Zendesk) runs separately from your GitHub account status.
  • Following up: Find the automated confirmation email you received when you submitted the very first ticket. Reply directly to that email thread to ask for updates or add context.

Creating a third account to ask for help will just dig the hole deeper and make you look like a bot network. Stick to the original email thread and hold tight until the Trust & Safety team reviews your case.

Hello GitHub Community Team,I am writing to urgently request a manual review for Ticket #4449203. My account has been completely suspended since June 3rd (over 5 weeks ago) with zero human response so far. What Happened: On the morning of June 3rd, I woke up to approximately 20 automated notification emails alerting me of failed CI/CD workflow runs across multiple repositories. I had not pushed any code or initiated any actions to trigger these builds. Immediately after seeing these emails, I attempted to log into my account and found that it had been suspended. The Cause: It is clear that my account suffered an external security compromise. Unauthorized actors gained access and maliciously triggered a barrage of automated workflow runs. GitHub's automated abuse filters rightfully caught the unusual spike in compute activity and locked the account down. My Request: I fully understand why the automated system flagged and suspended the account to protect the platform. However, I am the innocent victim of a breach and have now been locked out of my development work for over a month. I need a member of the Trust & Safety team to look at the login IP history and workflow edit timestamps prior to June 3rd to verify that this was a compromise. As soon as my account is reinstated, I am prepared to immediately reset my password, purge all active sessions, and rotate all SSH keys and Personal Access Tokens (PATs) to secure it. Could a community manager please flag Ticket #4449203 for an internal reviewer? Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hey, has your account been restored yet?

If both accounts were suspended, I would avoid creating additional accounts unless GitHub Support explicitly asks you to. Multiple new accounts created while an appeal is pending can sometimes make the situation more confusing.

If you already submitted a support request before the suspension, it should remain in the support queue even if you can't access your account normally. GitHub Support will usually continue communicating through the email address associated with the ticket.

If you have the confirmation email, it should contain a ticket/reference number. I'd recommend replying to that same email instead of opening new requests, as it keeps all the context in one place and makes it easier for Support to follow the case.

If you don't have a confirmation email or ticket number, the safest approach is to submit a single new appeal using the same email address that was associated with your suspended account and explain that you can no longer access the existing ticket.

At this point, there's unfortunately no public page where suspended users can independently track their support tickets. Your best option is to keep the conversation in one ticket and wait for Support's response rather than creating additional accounts or duplicate requests.
