Please read this carefully: CommPuter is a hobby toy, not a security product.

It does use real cryptography (X25519 key exchange + ChaCha20-Poly1305 + SHA-256) for its private messages, but the implementation is a spare-time effort and has not been independently audited. Do not rely on it to protect anything that actually matters, and do not use it as a safety, tracking, or emergency device.

If you find a security problem, please don't post exploit details in a public issue. Instead, contact the maintainer @marceld23 privately (e.g. via GitHub) with:

• a description of the issue and the potential impact, and
• steps to reproduce it, if possible.

Since this is a personal project, fixes happen on a best-effort basis with no guaranteed timeline. Thanks for helping make a fun little toy a bit better.
