1.3.0

TLDR: Bug fixes and performance improvements

The main purpose for this release upgrades Electron to the latest version to address a security vulnerability.

Other Stuff:

  • Migrated to a new build process using Electron Forge to provide a better app install experience on all platforms.
  • Tweaked the main accent colour used to a slightly darker shade for slightly improved accessibility
  • Fixed a couple of typos.

With the exception of security updates prompted by Dependabot alerts, this will likely be the final release of this version of the desktop client. To follow the progress of the new Indigenous desktop client, please see https://indigenous.marksuth.dev for progress updates.

Note: The app may look blank for 30-90 seconds when you first open the app. This is due to a large amount of jQuery being pre-loaded. Improving this was outside the scope of this release unfortunately.

Builds for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Notes:

  • Linux: unzip && cd Indigenous-linux-x64 && ./Indigenous
  • Mac: unzip and double click the app. You will likely have to open it with 'Right Click' -> 'Open' the first time.
  • Windows: unzip, go in to the folder and double click 'Indigenous'. You will have to 'Right Click' on 'Indigenous' -> 'Properties' and toggle 'Unblock' the first time.
