Hello, I’m trying to render a Blend file into 2D images. I’ve managed to render the file successfully, but the output includes the ‘plane’ beneath the character and lighting/textures don't seem correct.

Could someone provide clear guidance on how to properly render assets in Blender. I’m not particularly concerned about assembling the sprite sheet itself—just ensuring the rendering process is correct. Thanks!

*I'm using "Version 4.0.2" perhaps I need to be using a different version?

Unfortunately, most of our Blender files were made before the big jump to 3.0. If you want to use them as-is, you'll need to use Blender 2.79.

I think a future goal for us should be to get these files "ported" for compatibility with newer versions of Blender. It'll be important for the longevity of the project. It'll also give us an opportunity to review the workflow. Currently, there's several manual steps to create the spritesheets and get them configured for the game. I want to get that as close to a one-button solution as I can.
