have you heard of valve time?

(/j, I've been working closely with some others to iron out everything, so my gut instinct is that it'd happen within the next few weeks. I don't tend to trust my gut for predicting deadlines tho 馃槢)

Valve Time only applies to Fusion 3.0 XD

The best part about Fusion is that it's going to be so easy for everyone to pick it up. It's intuitive at a basic level, and has a high ceiling for more complex usage.

When I first started using Fusion, I was able to start writing my game after just 2 minutes of reading the code sample snippets from the Fusion homepage. A month later, and I was writing complex applications in Fusion. A couple weeks after that, I was finding ways to rewrite some of my advanced components to better take advantage of Fusion's potential and powers.

You become more familiar with it as you go, and consequently become a better Fusion developer. It's an excellent learning curve, and as @Elttob adds documentation and tutorials it will be even easier to climb up that curve to being experienced Fusion dev.

thanks for the kind words boat! been a pleasure to see what you've done with Fusion in Lua Learning, and has brought a lot of things to light :)

What I'm most excited to get my hands on is the Spring component. As soon as I heard Elttob announce his idea for simplifying animations on the dev stream, I immediately became very interested in the project.

I've never used Roact not only because I'm already very familiar with the (admittedly somewhat annoying) Roblox UI tools but also because it really didn't seem to offer enough benefits to motivate me to learn its library. As boatbomber eluded to in his comment and from my experience with reading the previews of the documentation, it seems quite easy to get started with. I can't wait for the public beta.

Oh man don't even get me started on Spring- it's the ####ing best thing ever. My UI is more animated and fluid than ever before because it is so god damned easy to animate.
Normally I'd only animate the position of a couple GUIs at the most, since it just took too much effort to be worthwhile. Now, it's a handful of extra keypresses and boom that property is smooth and sexy. Now almost every dynamic property in my game has crisp and clean animation, because Fusion makes that achievable within project scope and deadlines.

I'm excited to get it out to you to try! I've always thought animation was integral to great UI designs, so it's weird in my eyes it's not more widespread in developer tools.

Also, you can have a VS Code snippet to make it literally only 2 or 3 keystrokes - won't even have to type out S-p-r-i-n-g
