You will probably want to ask OpenAI, I am not sure there is anything code-server could be doing to prevent it from showing you available options, unless the problem is with authenticating or something like that since those mechanisms are provided by code-server. It you are logged in and it just refuses to let you select 5.5 that sounds likely to be an extension issue. |

I had the same issue... its was a version issue... I was able to resolve it by Ssh'ing into my server, running codex-cli and telling it my issues... it found that it had to manually install the latest VSIX itself instead of using the extensions "store" built in. It said the latest version wasn't on the marketplace but it could install it for me... so I had it do it and now Bob's my uncle.... it's working with 5.5! |

I have access to Codex GPT 5.5 in the CLI and in the VS code extension. Somehow when using the OpenAI extension in codex-server I cannot select 5.5. in tried everything but without success.
