Notes
========

This tool tries to generate automatically a program that finds the
solutions of a system of equation given in the input.

Note that compiling it requires flex (or lex) and bison (or yacc).


It is typically invoked in the following way:

./Resolution -e equations_file.txt -t [log_256 of the maximum attack complexity]

Examples

# finds an attack on 1 AES round, 1 known plaintext, complexity up to 2^(6*8)
./Resolution -e equations/1r.txt -t 6

# finds an attack on 1 AES round, 1 known plaintext, complexity up to 2^(4*8)
./Resolution -e equations/1r.txt -t 4

# disproves the existence of such attack with complexity 2^(3*8) or less
./Resolution -e equations/1r.txt -t 3 -r 1

# finds an attack on 2 AES rounds, 2 known plaintext, complexity up to 2^(4*8)

# finds an attack on 2 AES rounds, 1 known plaintext, complexity up to 2^(8*8)

The format of the equation files is fairly self-explanatory. Once an
attack is found, the program will offer you to generate an XML file
describing the attack in a not-very human-readable way. It will then
offer you to generate C code for the attack, and lastly it will offer
you to include a chunck of code that automatically generates a set of
values of the parameters (plaintext/ciphertext,etc.) compatible with
the equations.

Note that the generated programs may require a 64-bit machine to be
run.
