Regarding this getting published, we have SNAPSHOT builds for every commit that you can use from maven central. Also we intend to release biojava 5.0 in the next months. In the meantime we can still do some more 5.0-alpha releases. |

Fix for #663 with its test + updates on existing tests and some code cleaning.
