Python is an programming language popular for its beginner friendly syntax (English like), rich library support and versatility nature like it can be used in almost every domain - Web development, Data analysis, Testing, AI/ML, Game development, API, Automation, Scripting etc. Also python has a very large and active community and it has a well written documentations. Python is used in the development of many big tech products like Youtube, Instagram, Spotify Dropbox etc.

It was developed by Guido Van Rossum in the year 1991.It was named after British comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus It is a high level interpreted language which support object oriented principles. Its simple syntax help learners to get a good grasp of fundamentals.
I been using python from last 2 years and its been fun building projects in it.
