Gems with native dependencies

sqlite3

On older Linux distributions you may encounter the error:

./backup.h:7: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'sqlite3_backup

Recompile sqlite3 with the following:

wget http://www.sqlite.org/sqlite-autoconf-3071100.tar.gz
tar xvfz sqlite-autoconf-3071100.tar.gz
cd sqlite-autoconf-3071100
./configure --prefix=$HOME/usr
make
make install

And then install the sqlite3 gem, pointing to the location of your new compilation:

gem intall sqlite3-ruby -- --with-sqlite3-dir=$HOME/usr
