Biographies

[modifier | modifier le code]Selon le Mahabharata épique et d’autres écritures puraniques, la princesse Rukmini est née de Bhishmaka—le roi du royaume de Vidarbha, appartenant à la dynastie Bhoja[1].
Vie de famille
[modifier | modifier le code]Elle a cinq frères aînés : Rukmi, Rukmaratha, Rukmabahu, Rukmakesa et Rukmanetra[2].
Début de vénération
[modifier | modifier le code]Les Puranas, notamment le Vishnu Purana, le Bhagavata Purana et le Padma Purana la louent comme une incarnation de la déesse Lakshmi, l’épouse du dieu Vishnou[2].
